Fashion Over 50 Athleisure from Target & Athleta

Steve and I go up every other week to take care of Summer and I need comfortable practical clothes because she is busy.  I have been spending a lot of time at Target lately due to an upcoming organization post and I always check out their “workout clothes”. I found a couple of tunic length sweatshirts that wash beautifully and are super comfortable. I am a big fan of Athleta as well and they had a great sweatshirt on sale.  Let’s take a  look at Fashion Over 50 Athleisure from Target & Athleta.

What I like about all of these sweatshirts is they cover the bum.  The Athleta Stellar crop that I have spoken about over and over. You can read about them on my travel post here.  Most leggings aren’t very attractive on women my age unless the bum is covered. The Athleta Stellar crop is also thicker than a traditional legging so they are warm ad much more flattering. I feel they merit the price.  The Athleta Funnel Neck sweatshirt is also thick and warm so you don’t really need another layer underneath. I am wearing the pearl but it comes in a really pretty redwood color as well as black. And did I mention it is on sale! I love these adidas tennies.  They have plenty of room in the toe box and they are super lightweight.n

Now for the Target bargains.  I have many pairs of their Champion leggings.  I find they are just as good as the ones that are two or three times the price.  It looks like Target is phasing those out and replacing them with their joy lab brand.  I have a pair of them and they seem fine so far.

Here I am wearing the Champion French Terry Tunic pullover from Target.  I picked the black one (above) up on a whim when shopping for an upcoming post at Target.  I thought I would give it a try and see if it shrunk like crazy.  It didn’t shrink a bit and washed and dried beautifully.  I am wearing it above with my sorel kinetic booties that are fur-lined and really toasty this time of year.  To be honest this is my uniform while I am working from home.  My office is on the north side of the house and not overly warm.  I liked the sweatshirt so much I went back to get the gray below. Note how it covers the bum in back.

I am not a huge fan of pink but I grabbed this sweatshirt as well.  It is a little longer, has bell sleeves, and is a bit thicker.  I don’t like it quite as much as the others but it is probably because it is pink.  I believe it comes in off white and black as well.
