A Chic Restaurant, a Festive Outfit you Will Love, and More
I hope you are having a great weekend. Let’s visit A Chic Restaurant, a Festive Outfit you Will Love, and More. I am joining my pals Mary Ann and Annie for our usual Sunday fun.
NEW YORK TIMES ROASTED CAULIFLOWER SOUP
I am a huge fan of roasted vegetable soups, I usually roast any veggies I have on hand with onions, garlic, and herbs and puree them. This roasted cauliflower soup from the NY Times sounds slightly more interesting and I can’t wait to try it.

OUTFIT OF THE WEEK
I Spotted this beautiful velvet tunic on the Eileen Fisher website and thought a festive Thanksgiving ensemble could be created around it. Faux leather (on sale and highly rated) J-Jill pants, Johnny Was Mules, a simple beaded clutch, turquoise earrings, and bracelets from Etsy. The mules are definitely a splurge, you could easily substitute less expensive leopard loafers or mules.

SHOP OUTFIT OF THE WEEK
MISTURA
On Saturday, I had to pick up our coffee table at Habitat Home and Garden and return some rug samples to Pottery Barn. We decided to go to lunch at Mistura, a Peruvian Restaurant in downtown SLO. We were not disappointed. I don’t know when I have been more impressed by the decor of a restaurant and the food was fabulous. I was so wowed I wanted to share it with you.
Isn’t the roped entry clever?
Steve and I shared the Salmon ceviche and the Peruvian Calamari roll, both were delicious.

Love the restaurant – wish we could meet there for lunch! 😉
Me too Gray!
I loved seeing the Pictures of Fall in Monticello, where I visited my Grandmother, She lived on Broadway, we would drive through the beautiful fall yellow trees to Brookston to visit my aunts. We call this type of Indian Summer day, “ Ain’t God Good to Indiana “ weather!!
I have looked your posts this fall, Today my pale green car coat arrive, perfect for dog walking and to wear to the gym. I am going to approximate today’s look for my holiday attire. The cognac and tour quotes combination is a great look for my coloring. Thank you for all of your style.
Hi Beth
So great hearing about your Indiana memories. I certainly have fond memories of growing up there.
Pretty outfit, and the soup looks so good. I usually make a big pot of soup every week during the cold months (and freeze extra for later). Always looking for new ones. The fall colors in the midwest have been just beautiful this year.
Hi Barb
I like to freeze half as well. I always try to have a couple in the freezer!
Cindy! That restaurant in SLO looks so cool! I hope you were wearing your outfit of the week! It seems like it would be perfect!
It looks like Indiana is having a beautiful fall too! I can’t remember a year when it has been more colorful! Love that gratitude idea for a big group! Perfect for yours this year of 25+!!
Hi Annie
Mistura is fabulous and I love the decor, so interesting.
Cindy love that outfit. The blue with those autumn tones is so good. That cauliflower soup looks delicious. I love soups this time of year. You have so many cool restaurants near you!
Hi Kim
I sure love soup this time of year too. We do have a lot of great restaurants here. You need to come visit!!
It is a treat for me that you have moved to the central coast. I live in Arroyo Grande near The Village so I am especially interested in your new explorations. Through you, I am discovering new businesses in our area. It encourages out of town visitors to check out our fantastic area. Thank you.
Hi Nancy
I am so happy to hear that. We absolutely love it here and find the people very friendly. Arroyo Grande is such a cute town. I need to get back down there!!
I’m glad that you found Mistura. I’m only sorry that I wasn’t the one accompanying you after our aborted plan. The soup looks worth a try – I love switching things up in the winter months and cooking more hearty, heart-warming meals.
I think the link to scarf is incorrect?
Hi Jan
I emailed you, but it is fixed. Thank you so much for letting me know!
I think the link to scarf is incorrect? Mine went to craft page.
Hi Wren
Let’s meet for lunch sometime soon!
Your outfit looks perfect for Thanksgiving. Elegant but still relaxed.
Hi Diane
Yes I think it is lovely as well.
What’s your best advice for upholstery fabric in a family room? I was thinking of a pattern but am now leaning towards a solid. My couch is a butterscotch Carmel color. My husband doesn’t like leather. That soup looks delicious by the way!
Hi Harriet
I personally prefer my main seating pieces to be in a solid (preferably a neutral) that way I do not tire of the pattern. I change out my pillows when I get tired of a particular pattern. That being said it is totally personal. If you don’t tire of a particular pattern then go for it. I only use performance fabrics due to grandchildren and pets.
What a fun restaurant…so creative! You live in such a fun area.
I want to make that soup tonight! Tommy is here and I think he will like it too.
Hi Mary Ann
I can’t wait to hear how the soup is!!
Mistura is one of our faves! Love all the seafood ceviches and the yucca fries are so delish! Glad you loved it!
I am going to the Habitat warehouse tomorrow to try to find an oversized wardrobe/cabinet for our bedroom. thought maybe to have someone build something, but everyone is so busy right now. I do love Habitat – our sofa is from there as are a few other special treasures. (I also contacted Trino and johann but they don’t have anything large enough – any ideas?)
I love your new outfit and look forward to you modeling it in person
Hi Dianne
I would think Habitat would be your best bet. If I remember correctly, they have several. Good Luck, they are hard to find anymore.
