OUTFIT OF THE WEEK
This beautiful Johnny Was top has my heart. I styled it with my favorite Kut from the Kloth white jeans, an inexpensive packable hat from Madewell, a Dragon Diffusion knockoff bag from Etsy, comfy Fit Flop slides and super cheap rattan earrings from Amazon.

SERIOUS EATS CITRUS BEETS SALAD
If you have been reading my blog long you know I love a good beet salad. This beet salad from Serious Eats was fabulous! I made it Easter Sunday for brunch along with the Strata from last week and everyone loved it.
Raise your hand if you love Mark D Sikes work? He has a really lovely collection with Anthropologie that you might want to check out.

MICHAEL STARS FRIENDS AND FAMILY SALE
My favorite tees along with everything else are on sale for 30% on the Michaels Stars website. This opportunity does not come along often. You can find the the Dot 3/4 sleeve tee here, and the Dora shine 3/4 sleeve tee here. People always ask me what I love about these tees. They are the perfect weight and fit, and they have 3/4 sleeves which are fabulous for women our age. I am also in love with their gauze collection especially the red.
That’s it from my desk. If you would like to catch up on any of my other Sunday Favorites, you can find them here. Thank you for reading Do you Love Blue and White. Now let’s pop over and visit Annie and Mary Ann and see what they are up to.

Love blue and white, in the house, and in my wardrobe. Beets are one of my favorites, I cannot wait to try this salad.

Cindy,
I love the blue & white for home and your outfit of the week! Pinned! I need to try those Michael Stars t-shirts. I remember when they were all OS…I think that’s why I never wore them. Do you remember that?
xx

Cindy Hattersley says
Hi Francesca
I often roast beets as well, but in a pinch you can use the already cooked ones in the refrigerated counter at TJ’s

Good morning Cindy,
So tickled to know about the Mark Sikes Collection at Anthropologie because it is so sophisticated and fun.
What size do you wear in the Michael Stars 3/4 sleeve shirt and the gauze button shirt? It’s hard to know which to order.
Hope you’re enjoying some down time today.
Hugs from Diney on Mercer Island,

Love the blue and white… and had that combination in my main bedroom for years. It’s updated in the spare bedroom with different intensities of blue, and nautical art work that has pops of red , also found in the extra cushions on the bed . Shutters help with the look.
I used to wear that combo ( not the bed linens!) every summer, however as white is now a bit strong for me , I will edit and wear pieces that have more of the blues near my face and my new white jeans below ( first pair ever!) . So fresh in the summer.
I made a beet salad recently and it was with walnuts, blue cheese and radishes. I like your version, Cindy, which is lighter, but I believe the grapefruit might need to go… does not work for people on cholesterol meds… even a minimal dose of statins that I use. So more oranges I guess, which are not a problem. Shall try it as I have a couple more roasted beets to use up .
I watched Kerry Lou…what a beautiful woman. I have an outfit idea for a late June wedding in Alberta. It’s fun and colourful, as it will be a fairly low key affair , knowing the couple . I will have a later look at her make up suggestions. There’s definitely more sag going on in my 73 year old face, so I am likely at least 15 years older! Always room for improvement 😀
April showers here 💦 but bringing on May 🌼🌷.

Love blue and white! You’ve probably noticed, but the carousel for OOTW is missing, and the photo montage is duplicated.
Cindy Hattersley says
Hi Bette
I fixed it thank you so much for letting me know!
Bette says
I only noticed because I WANT THAT SHIRT! 😉
Annie says
Hi Cindy—I don’t see the links for the outfit of the week.
Cindy Hattersley says
Hi Annie
I have fixed the links. I accidentally duplicated the Mark Sikes links!

I LOVE blue and white in my home and in my wardrobe! Almost every room in our house has a touch of blue and white. I’m always drawn to blue clothing, too, especially navy and cobalt since I’m a “winter.” In my eyes, there’s nothing prettier than a white blouse with a navy sweater or jacket. Or blue and white striped shirts.
I look forward to reading every one of your posts throughout the week. It’s so refreshing to see a woman of my age on the Internet!
Cindy Hattersley says
Hi Barb
I think blue and white is so univerally loved! The only blue that I can wear is periwinkle, although I have been tempted to try navy now that I am white!
Barb says
I also have white hair, but I think my cool skin tone is more fair than yours. Try a bright navy. I think you’ll like it! I’m due for new glasses soon and am thinking of going the navy route.
Cindy Hattersley says
Hi Barb
I have brown eyes and more of an olive complexion, navy of any kind near my face is tough. Perhaps I will try a very bright navy at some point!
Gray says
I love blue and white – alllllll over my home and closet! I ALSO love that gauze collection. Thinking it might be a more affordable alternative to CP Shades bottoms? I had planned on purchasing a few. What would you say is the difference?
Cindy Hattersley says
Hi Gray
I have several pieces of the Michael Stars gauze. I really like it. I have not tried the CP Gauze collection…only the linen!
Karen B. says
Cindy,
The Johnny Was blouse is dreamy. I adore blue and white, and it usually draws my attention no matter what it is.
Have a great Sunday.
