A Delicious Summer Salad you will Want to Make Now and More

Happy Fourth of July Weekend everyone. I hope you are all having a great time with family and friends. Our kids are either down with Covid or off on vacation so we are trying to get more settled here. Today as usual I am joining my friends Mary Ann and Annie for our Sunday favorites. Let’s take a look at A Delicious Summer Salad you will Want to Make and More.

Foster’s Market Grilled Peach Salad with Country Ham and Fresh Herbs

Raise your hand if you own any of the Foster’s Market Cookbooks. I am sure if you live in North Carolina you are familiar with Sara Foster.  Do her markets still exist?  I went through my cookbooks when moving and tossed about 3/4 of them as most of the recipes can be found online.  I had forgotten how many recipes I used to make from the Foster’s Market cookbooks.  I am so glad I did not toss them.  I am scouring them once again for favorite recipes that I had forgotten. This grilled peach salad with country ham and Summer herbs was a favorite.FYI you can find all of Sara’s cookbooks on Amazon here.  I highly recommend all of them.

Daou Winery

We were invited by some new friends to the beautiful Daou Winery for one of their Summer Series evenings.  The company was superb, the views and the wine to die for. By the way, if you like Rose, their Discovery Rose is a great buy and you can find it at your local supermarket.

WISTERIA’S 20% WORLD OF BAZAAR SALE

I have long been a fan of the Wisteria catalog. I was sad when they closed their doors but delighted that the owners of OKA purchased it and have revived the catalog. They are having 20% off on many of their items. In our new master bedroom, our bed is in a niche. We have only 29″ on each side of the bed. We have been suffering without any nightstands because I hate to buy something new. I ordered these great little chests that I am hoping won’t be overwhelmed by our large bed. I think we may have to retire the bed and do something different, but either way, I think these nightstands will be great.

Their sister store OKA is also having a great sale. This desk would be great for a spot where you have limited space. Isn’t it fabulous? I penned a post about OKA here. They have some great products that you can’t find everywhere else.

A little late on this one. Love the recipe – thanks! How have I not heard of Fosters Market – I live 2 1/2 hours away?
Also, I did not know that Wisteria was back? I stopped getting the catalog and had checked the site without luck for awhile, so thought it was gone!

Beautiful views for wine tasting! Love the outfit and I’m going to check out the cookbooks. Nightstands look great, although I think it would be a shame to have to retire the bed, it’s really special.

      Hi Barb

I know the bed…my husband feels the same way…I just hope I can keep climbing in! So far so good.

I googled Saras market. Still exists. A really cute article was written by one of their customers.

      Hi Karen

I am so happy to hear that. Her cookbooks are wonderful. I am so glad I did not toss them.

Cindy! Your outfit of the week reminds me of a winter version where you wore this color as a sweater with Artemis shoes! Love this color…although you look amazing in bright colors and all white too! That vineyard looks gorgeous!

      Hi Annie

You are so observant!! That color is flattering on those of us with white hair!

Fosters on the Boulevard in Durham in one of my favorites. I live in Raleigh and stop by every time I’m Durham for a bite to eat, to take in the collected look, shop for seasonal trinkets and pick up a bag of brownie edges.

      Hi Arlene

I was wondering if they were still there. Her cookbooks are the best! Simple recipes with creative ingredients.
