Lake Athens Retreat by Shannon Bowers
I have to be honest, I haven’t been overly inspired by the interiors I have been seeing in the magazines an online lately. They are all looking generic to me. On a whim I decided to check out Shannon Bowers portfolio (her mom is famed designer & Milieu editor Pam Pierce), and I have always loved Shannon’s style. This Lake Athens home checks all of my boxes. It is personal, collected, welcoming and completely charming. I could move right in. The beautiful photography is by Pär Bengtsson. Steve and I once considered building a home on the lake we grew up on in Indiana. This house design would have been perfect!

This kitchen is modern with nods to the past. Love the purposefully mismatched stools at the counter.
I love how the layered textiles and vintage pieces give this bedroom such warmth and character.
The mix of the quirky gallery wall with the antique table and chairs gives this dining space its unique charm. I am completely smitten with this home.
Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgewick in AARP
I am always shocked when people say oooh I don’t read AARP that is for old people…hogwash!! Cool couple actor and musician Kevin Bacon and actress Kyra Sedgewick have been married for 36 years which is unheard of in Hollywood. They recently opened up about Love, Aging and Showing up on AARP. FYI you should follow them on Instagram as well. You can follow Kevin here, and Kyra Sedgewick here.

Thirdlove
I have featured Thirdlove before. They have supportive bras with no wires yippee! Now they have come out with thermoregulating undies!! If you find your underwear overheating in the weather you might want to try their “temp sync” collection. I love this bra and these panties.
No Makeup-Makeup
They kindly sent me a sample of their no makeup makeup and brush a few weeks ago. The color was too light for me but my daughter loved it. I requested new samples and I have to say the natural medium may be a winner for me. I may be jumping on the bandwagon. I am so into simplifying my routine. I know many of you are trying it. I would love to hear what you think!
Credo Beauty
Credo Beauty focuses on safe, sustainable, and ethical ingredients. They recently sent me their Silverist Shampoo and Conditioner to try. I have my favorite silver hair products that I have featured in this post Best Products for Brassy Gray Hair, but I do really like these products. They are natural and gentle and infused with hyaluronic acid and proteins. If you find some of the other purple infused products turn your hair well purple, you might want to give this line a try. It reminds me of a french line I was using that they discontinued.
Outfits of the Week
Everyone had a fit that I didn’t do Outfits of the Week last Sunday. I thought we were on fashion overload. I am completely revitalized and love what I have to share this week. I have taken two of my favorite denim pieces from Frank and Eileen that you can wear now or later.
I love this new denim skirt from Frank and Eileen and I own this denim shirt. You could also replace the skirt with this less expensive option from Gap, and the pants with these that I also love from Kut from the Kloth. The bag is a great option from Quince, the sunnies from Warby Parker (I shared last week in this post), the sandals from Cole Haan at Nordstrom Rack and the hat from Madewell.
For an early fall look I added this lightweight J Crew cashmere cardigan, these slides from Artemis Design, and this fabulous crossbody from Tory Burch that is on sale.
This charming vest from Sezane is a favorite on my wish list, the comfy Gentle Souls boots I own and love.
Last but not least I added this great Suzani jacket from Etsy (available in other colors) and my favorite Gentle Souls comfy booties.

Celebrity Couples
I am not much of a celebrity follower but I have to say Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson have my heart.
She’s wrestled with her identity over the years and made more than a few questionable choices in men, but her performance in The Last Showgirl was outstanding. I love that she’s embraced a fresh, natural look with her makeup lately. Liam Neeson, endured the heartbreaking loss of his wife Natasha Richardson in a tragic ski accident. So, raise your hand if you’re cheering for these two to find happiness together. And did I mention Pamela is collaborating with Flamingo Estate (love their candles use code Cindy15 to try them) with her homemade pickles with rosebuds (they are a bit pricey)…but look delicious!

Thank you for the bra details. I have heavy boobs, a double D and have worn underwires all my life. I wonder how ThirdLove would go for the heavier breast. It seems to me that with ‘maturing’, my chest seems to want to sink lower and lower and cut out my waist. As I LOVE belts, it’s a raging argument between me and the monsters.
The only thing that would worry me is buying lingerie on line. I’ve always been fitted since I got my first ever bra.

I have the same problem Prue. I couldn’t wear this type of bra on a daily basis but it is nice to give the monsters a rest when I am not going anywhere-if you know what I mean-
After a friend recommended Underoutfit bras I bought a few of them. Maybe they’ll be fine for cold weather but I cannot wear them in the summer in Texas! When my lingerie budget allows, maybe I’ll try Thirdlove.

I recently read an article about her and her gardening passion on an island outside Vancouver that was in her family and where she now lives, and she sounded so lovely and down to earth. Oh that bedroom, I love it so
much. And Flamingo Estates has a green tomato candle! I have to try it, nothing is better than a tomato oriented candle. And the bras, I should try them. I have never been “blessed” as they say, always a non-issue, I’ve had an easy life as far as that goes. Suddenly at 72, my boobs are so heavy?!? Something weird is going on, I cannot get comfortable, my wonderful Costco sports bras are not working for me at all. Do they even have sales ladies that fit you with a bra anymore or is that part of the olden days?

Cindy Thank you again for another super read and thoughts to ponder. I just received the Bazaar UK July/August issue with an article about Pam Anderson and her changes. Who says you can’t redo and refresh! As for Fall clothing I can’t wait but have been thankful that San Diego has had a mild summer. I purchased a suede purse a year ago, new grey jeans this Spring for Fall wear, and sweaters are dry-cleaned and ready. We may have a warm Fall which occasionally happens here but I hope not. I think you had a garbanzo salad recipe recently and it was delicious. with.cherry tomato, cucumber and slivers of red onion with an olive oil/red wine vinegar dressing? Son good!
