A Blue Ridge Mountain Home, and Soup & Sweater Weather

Happy Sunday everyone. I am joining my pals Mary Ann and Annie for our Sunday favorites. Let’s chat about A Blue Ridge Mountain Home, and Soup & Sweater Weather.

Nashville Designer Rachel Halvorson

“With a fresh approach and contagious energy, Halvorson creates timeless, livable environments. She interprets each client’s vision and lifestyle and customizes beautiful interiors that reflect the people within. Instead of focusing on a particular style—every home is different—she strives to incorporate the client’s background with the style of the architecture and local surroundings, allowing comfort and affordability to lead the way. Her hands-on approach seems effortless and enjoyable rather than contrived and stressful. She believes in spaces that are sentimental and collected, always incorporating vintage pieces and antiques.” .Rachel Halvorsen first caught my eye with a project she designed for country music legends Brooks and Dunn in my post here.

Rachel participated in the recent Flower Magazine showhouse here.

This mountain house is a new build filled with character and charm, beautifully photographed by Annie Schlecter and featured in Southern Living magazine. You can view Rachel’s entire portfolio here.

Outfits of the Week

J Crew is having a big sale here (cashmere included). I will try and get my favorites listed in my shop here before noon. Lately I have been drawn to unlikely color combinations. I love the quiet luxury look of gray and brown. I paired last weeks faux fur poncho with a sweater (J crew is sending me), and their kick flare sweater pants which I own and love.

Sweater, sweater pants, poncho, scarf, shoes that I have been coveting, great bag, earrings, bracelet

Here I paired the same sweater and pants with this great scarf from Aritzia that I think I need to order! Love the tonal shades of gray.

Gingery Meatball Soup

I am making this soup this week. I will probably add chopped green onions, possibly fresh mushrooms, and maybe water chestnuts.

Pine Cones and Acorns Weekend Meanderings

My friend Elizabeth’s weekend meanderings post this weekend is filled with all kinds of interesting tidbits I think you will enjoy.

Jamie Lee Curtis

I love Jamie Lee Curtis. I came across this article from last year in AARP. I think you will enjoy it too.

Have a great Sunday. Thank you for being here and reading A Blue Ridge Mountain Home, and Soup & Sweater Weather. We are entertaining our new neighbors and our old neighbors. I will share that menu with you next week right here.

Now let’s pop over and visit Mary Ann and Annie and see what they are up to.

  1. I want to order the sweater pants but not sure on the size. The petite seems to short and the regular says 30-32. What size do you have?

    1. Hi Patricia

The petite is short on me and that is what I ordered. I just ordered another pair in regular which will probably be too long. The hem is raw so they could be easily altered with scizzors!! I just did that with a pair of faux suede jeans that Ann Taylor sent that were too long. Jennifer from A Well Styled Life gave me the idea!

  2. Cindy! That bark wall and fireplace … swoon. I’m going to make the gingery meatball soup too. Yum. xo

  3. Hello Cindy,
Gorgeous clothes and thanks for the Jamie Curtis article, I think she is extraordinary and will enjoy reading that. Lovely soup too! Have a wonderful week.

  4. Loved the outfits in soft grey, especially with the lovely scarf. I can’t wear brown near my face just in pants. I’m a cool tone palette woman. I really enjoyed the article about Jamie Lee Curtis. My hair is currently cut like her hair and a similar color. I love her practical view of life. Have a lovely Sunday. It is chilly here in southern Colorado today too.

  5. Love the wall of built-ins and the way the room is arranged. That soup looks so good, especially like the idea of your editions!
Your outfits of the week would look gorgeous on you with your beautiful hair color!

  6. Love those homey interiors…I don’t think I’ve seen a bark lined wall before. Such pretty outfit combinations!
