Sunday Fun Stuff and News

Good Morning from the garden.  Nothing like a garden to lift one’s’ spirits.  It certainly has been my savior through all of this. I am popping in for a quick post, Sunday Fun Stuff, and News.

Since we have been spending so much time in the garden I am thinking about sprucing up a couple of areas with some inexpensive fixes. Everyone is having sales. Why is it when everything is so cheap we don’t want to spend any money?

The only store I get in (well any of us) is Target so I always make a quick swish through their home and outdoor section while I am there if the store isn’t busy. They have some great inexpensive outdoor pillows.  Pier 1 does as well.  Here are a few of my favorites.

Janet from Shabbyfufu has a recipe for vegetarian sliders that look amazing here Vegetarian Walnut Sliders that are Better than Meat. I can’t wait to try these.

Sunday Fun Stuff and News

Is anyone else obsessed with Jane Pauley on CBS Sunday Morning? She is a breath of fresh air every week.

Do you read Emily A Clark’s Saturday Six?  She always features a pretty home or two.  Yesterday she featured this beautiful Illinois home by Alexandra Kaehler

Do you follow Karen Bunch of Garden Home and Party on Instagram?  Karen has a knack for seeking out the most beautiful traditional interiors and gardens.  Oh, and if you are in Southern California, she is now doing garden design.

Watching the Today Show was my morning ritual… until the network treated Jane Pauley so shabbily and dumped her for the younger Norville! Never watched it again, out of protest in Jane’s honor. Yes, I watch CBS This Morning now solely because of Jane.

    Cindy,
Thank you for the shout out. I consider the garden my favorite way to relax and rejuvenate, especially now. Your garden is lovely and the first bloom of roses is always the best.
I’m happy to hear your healthy. Maybe by the end of May things will be a lot better.
    xo,
    Karen

Love Jane Pauley and have watched Sunday Morning for years!! Can’t wait for the gray hair tutorial tomorrow. Not being able to get to the salon has me rethinking the dye. Actually starting to like what I’m seeing, but not sure I’m willing to endure months of growing it out completely. Looking forward to everyone’s ideas!!

Have you tried the Loreal root spray? It was a lifesaver when I was growing my dark brn hair out.
Love love my long gray hair. Don’t give up. I know it is hard.

Your garden is so beautiful!! I cannot imagine how you keep up with it!! We are working on the vegetable end of things!! It will be very interesting how things play out here in Umbria.
Cindy, I know I would be very interested if you could tell us about your Weight Watchers experience, and how that worked out in January. Which program do you follow, and what are your go to tips. Perhaps you will do a blog post, or could you email me directly? Between the homemade sourdough, focaccia, tortillas…. Are you still following along with Elizabeth Minchilli? This cooking and eating are a “thing”, for me at least.
Thanks for your positivity during this time. I really look forward to your posts.

Your garden is absolutely gIorious! Mine is finally beginning to green up — I walk around daily encouraging every sprout! Looking forward to your “gray post” tomorrow. I stopped coloring my hair years ago, but now thinking the grass needs a boost of care!
    Have a great day!

Thanks for the “fair warning” about your topic of taking care of gray hair tomorrow with such great ladies…my transition is taking a lot longer than anticipated. Being I haven’t been able to get in for a good trim and blending of the grays since late January it’s so over due! A hair appointment and massage is first thing on my list of things to do when businesses reopen!

Love, Love Jane Pauley. Could you please help her with her style?
Or is that part of her charm?
