Let’s Make a Delicious Salad with Pantry Ingredients
Today I am joining my pals Annie and Mary Ann for our Sunday faves. Let’s Make a Delicious Salad with Pantry Ingredients, enjoy a beautiful garden in Maine, and much more.
LOI AND TOM’S BEAUTIFUL MAINE GARDEN
I am sure you all are already following the talented Loi Thai and his partner Tom. Loi has created beautiful gardens wherever he lives. I imagine gardening in Maine can be challenging, but they have created an Eden on the Coast of Maine. You can follow them on Instagram here.

SANDRA’S LATEST YOUTUBE VIDEO ON MINIMAL MAKEUP

My pal Sandra is back. She is chatting about minimal makeup for women our age. Don’t you have those days that you want to look decent but you just don’t want to spend a ton of time on your makeup? That is everyday for me. I think you might enjoy it. You can watch it on Youtube here.
OUTFIT OF THE WEEK
Jennifer and I are preparing a dress post later this month so I have been on the hunt for attractive dresses. The colors in this pretty dress from Tuckernuck really caught my eye. I paired it with inexpensive sandals from Steve Madden but you could easily dress it up with a pair of block heeled sandals like these from Clarks as well.

PANTRY BEAN SALAD-VIEW FROM THE GREAT ISLAND
Do you follow Sue from A View from the Great Island? This Mediterranen Bean Salad that can be made from pantry ingredients caught my eye. I am going to make it this week. You can also find all of my favorite summer salads from the blog right here.

That’s it from my desk this week. I want to also thank you so much using my links to purchase items that I recommend. I have had a lot of questions about how to purchase things lately both here on the blog and on Instagram. By using my links you provide me with small commissions that allow me to keep this blog up and running. You are appreciated! Thank’s for reading Let’s Make a Delicious Salad with Pantry Ingredients. FYI If there is anything you would like me to include in my Sunday favorites, please share them in the comments below. Now let’s pop over and visit Annie and Mary Ann and see what they are sharing this week

Loi and Tom’s Maine garden is breathtaking. Can wait to see Sandra’s post!
I think I will make that salad today!!
Hi Mary Ann
I think you will like the salad! Sandra is always full of fun isn’t she?
Cindy!
Loi and Tom’s Maine garden is gorgeous! I can now say I have been to Maine in every season and we were just talking about how long the garden season would be…slightly shorter than here. Although this winter has not been that harsh. even in Maine.
Will check out Sandra’s latest post. I’m intrigued.
Sue’s salad looks so good! So colorful!
Can’t wait for your post with Jennifer on dresses! I need to wear more dresses!
xx
Hi Annie
I am so jealous of all your trips to Maine! We have fond memories of many antiquing jaunts to Maine back in the day! You are the one that introduced me to Sue!!
Oh, Cindy, Loi and Tom’s garden always leaves me reaching for the smelling salts. How can anything be so wonderful?! They have the magic touch. I have your OOTW dress, in a different colorway, in my spring wedding file. It’s such a flattering length and cut. Appreciate the vitamin information. That stuff can be so confusing. But your salad is full of good stuff and the colors are gorgeous. Yum. xo
Hi Juliet
I agree about that dress style being flattering. I just have a hard time with florals personally. I just love them on all of you, but rarely wear them myself.
Great post as usual, pal. Love this one from Sandra and I love the dress. Just posted it in the other colorway on my green post!!! I would love it for a spring wedding. I too am looking for dresses for a wedding and it’s slim pickins out there. Everything is very flowery and flowy – which I like. But if that’s not your thing – it’s hard!
Hi Gray
You are right about the dress hunting…very difficult in my opinion especially weddings!
Love your style. Anxious for your post on dresses. I am looking for dresses for a wedding in Portugal in September. Also, several friends looking and we have an going conversation about how hard it is to find age appropriate dresses. We are all late 60’s early 70’s. Too many look frumpy or too young and trendy. We are all very stylish and want to look fabulous but it it hard !!!
Hi Deb
Dresses are a challenge for me! I don’t do ruffles, not a big fan of florals and I am long waisted!!
Thank you for the Sunday Favorites, especially the beautiful Maine garden feature. I would enjoy a post on your favorite handbags. I have been searching for a large hobo style shoulder bag without success. I purchased two online from great companies and found the leather and design wonderful, but they were much smaller than shown on the site. Sometimes even thought the dimensions are provided, they don’t always translate well to how the bag fits on your shoulder or arm, and the depth that accommodates all the things we carry.
Hi Sherry
I will get on that. I have had several requests. I am comitted this week and the next but will hop on it!! Bags are hard!!
Thank you for the link to LoiThai IG page. It’s just lovely. I am not sure that your friend is really into minimal make up, as soon as she brought out the foundation….🙄. In this week’s post from Passage des Perles the Duchesse went into depth about the ‘no makeup’ phenomenon and women of a certain age. Seems that foundation is the first item jettisoned with the exception of a fancy dress event. All that guck getting into the wrinkles is remarkably aging. Sad because Sandra has beautiful au naturel skin!
Hi Allison
I guess it all depends on what you consider minimal? Most of the foundations are very light now. Most women our age have tossed the powder for a lighter foundation or CC cream. I certainly wear it. I have a lot of brown spots from the sun that definitely look better evened out. I have never been a heavy makeup person and don’t intend to become one. For one thing I am not very good at it! Thanks for weighing in.
Hello Cindy,
Thank you for a lovely post and the salad looks just perfect l am going to make that this week for sure! One day l hope to visit Maine too as my daughter went and she raved about it.
Take care,happy week,
Francesca
Hi Francesca
Maine is absolutely beautiful. We hope to get back once Steve is “off his scooter” and back on both feet!
