Over 50 Beach Essentials

We are getting ready to spend a few days in Sedona and I am sure many of you are planning getaways as well.  Today I am sharing some Over 50 Beach essentials that I have on my radar or already own.

Last season I linked to a suit I purchased from Athleta in my Over 50 Beach Chic post. Do you have a hard time finding a suit with enough support that isn’t so supportive that it is uncomfortable?  I have been searching for a gray suit (why are they so hard to find?) and this Aqualux Wide Strap popped up on the website. 

It also comes in the bra sized tankini top , and bottom which is great.  I am long waisted so the tankini normally fits me best.

This next item was a game changer for me.  I have searched the last couple of years for a gauzy swim coverup that covers my knees. I am 5’4 and this Etta embroidered dress hits me mid-calf.  It is super stylish and comfy.  I am over the moon that I ordered it.  I ordered the cream but it also comes in black.  The cream is on sale at shopbop and the black 25% at velvettees.  If you like it I would jump on it!

The havianas slim is my favorite beach flip flop.  They wear like iron.  They have a thicker strapped version if you prefer something more substantial. 

I have sung the praises of the Helen Kaminski packable hats numerous times. They are pricey but they literally can be shaped and reshaped numerous times and packed easily. I own both the Provence 12 (it comes in multiple colors now), and the Villa 9 (this one is great for every day).  The brim isn’t as wide, and it can be worn up or down just like the Provence 12.  I have owned my Provence 12 for several years and the villa for three.

I have researched sunscreens (there are a lot of good ones out there now), the Elta Md Sunscreen ( Broad-Spectrum SPF 50, Water-Resistant, Oil-free, Dermatologist-Recommended Mineral-Based Zinc Oxide Formula, 3.0 oz), gets high marks.  I have also been searching for a “lipscreen” with a little color. The Suntegrity Lip C.P.R 30 Spf with all natural ingredients is on my list.

Who has room for a bulky beach bag while traveling? I picked one like this up in Hawaii a few years back. This one is from Hat Attack and squashes down to nothing. Urban Outfitters has a cheaper version but not sure how well it would hold up? These balenciaga gray sunnies are on sale for $75.  I am a sucker for anything gray.

Last but not least I ordered this rash guard from Athleta.  It comes in black as well.  I like to enjoy the lake and pool in the summer but just can’t have the sun beating on my wrinkled skin anymore.  Too bad they don’t have one that covers the face too! I was so happy to see this.  It comes in gray and black. If you have any over 50 beach essentials that you can share please do.

While preparing for this post I was trying to think of some goodies to make up an Easter Basket for Summer. I thought it might be fun to share them with you. Her parents installed a new pool (complete with safety cover) in her backyard.  Her mom is a former swimmer and water polo player so I am pretty sure little Summer is going to spend a lot of time in the pool.
