Five Summer Favorites you won’t Want to Miss

Today I am joining my pals Mary Ann and Annie for our Sunday Fab five. I am sharing Five Summer Favorites you Won’t Want to Miss.

STRAWBERRY WATERMELON SALAD WITH BURRATTA

My went to a friend’s for lunch last week and she served the most delicious beet salad I think I have ever had. I could not find the recipe (coming soon). This strawberry watermelon salad with burrata from Half Baked Harvest is very similar only without beets. I am making this next week

OUTFIT OF THE WEEK

I hope you got a chance to read our Monthly Over 50 Style Edit (with Jennifer of a Well Styled Life) on color. I failed to include this outfit which was one of my faves. The pants are from Zara (beautifully made by the way). The shirt is from Anthropologie, and the sandals are from Beek. Lucky you I am modeling it this week.

SUMMER THORNTON MAGIC

I love Summer Thornton’s bold colorful take on Traditional Interiors. Her new book Summer Thornton Wonderland came out in March and mine is on it’s way. You can purchase her book on Amazon here.

BAD TRACT HOME DETAILS-CARLA ASTON

My friend Carla Aston has a great series on Bad Home Details thtat you might enjoy.

WHAT I AM READING

The Venice Sketchbook by Rhys Bowen. I have joined our neighborhood book club. The book we are reading this month is The Venice Sketchbook. Goodreads “the story of Juliet ‘Lettie’ Browning from 1928 through the Second World War years and her great-niece Caroline Grant at the turn of the 21st Century. When Aunt Lettie dies in 2001 at a low point in Caroline’s life, she sets off to Venice to unlock the mysteries of Juliet’s well kept secrets. The story is told in dual timelines”. I am enjoying it.

That’s all from my desk this week. Thank you for reading Five Summer Favorites you won’t Want to Miss. We are up in the bay area watching Summer swim. She is getting better and having a ball. Have a great Sunday. Now let’s pop over and visit Annie and Mary Ann to see what they are sharing.

    Cindy,
The wide leg pants look great on you. I’m not quite ready to make the leap but I’m keeping that look in mind. Haha.
I’m actually ready for a little glimpse of summer since it’s been all May Gray and June Gloom here.

Cindy! I love your outfit of the week. Again, those pants remind me of what Linda V. Wright wears in the summer! I really do need to find a pair. Loving this post and the post on wearing color!
How fun to be able to go see Summer swim! Enjoy!

cute outfit from Zara! You look so adorable and how perfect for a warm Paso evening!
Love Zara! I just bought a pair of linen black and white striped pants from Zara. Love them, but I will need to hem!
Your posts inspire! I just bought a pair of citron overalls from Free People for colorful fun. A bit trendy but they are inexpensive so why not?

The watermelon salad looks insanely yummy!

      Hi Diane

I am on the hunt for a pair of linen overalls. Which ones did you purchase?

      • Dianne says

I bought Ziggy from Free People, however I have a couple of linen overalls from Faherty that I love – especially the blue and white striped.

Just FYI, your friends article refers to Tract homes, not Track homes. Maybe just a typo but lots of people make that mistake. The watermelon salad looks delicious. I’ve made it with avocado instead of strawberries which is also good.

Cindy, you look amazing in that outfit!
I do not eat watermelon but I think that salad would be delicious with beets.
I love The Venice Sketchbook! Enjoy!

    HAve a wonderful week Cindy!

      Hi Eliz

I agree…the salad Wren fixed is not on their website but only in the cookbook! I will share it soon. Are you all sick of my beet salads?

  8. Nan says

Thanks for your post. I enjoy books by Rhys Bowden, also, and added that one to my list. Your clothes are lovely, too, as always.

    Hi Cindy,
I loved watching my kids learning to swim it’s such a feeling of accomplishment! Later in their teens they went to a surf school in California and just became fearless, fantastic to watch them just paddle out reading the waves.Love the salad and the outfit. Happy Sunday 🙂
