Do you Love Collected Colorful Interiors

Do you Love Collected Colorful Interiors? This time of year color seems so inviting, doesn’t it? With the promise of Spring not far off, a little color seems to brighten the spirits. I am popping in with a later than usual quick post.

Steve had his surgery yesterday and all went well. In fact he was supposed to spend the night, and low and behold they released him three hours later. I spent yesterday bringing him home and getting him settled. Sooo, let’s take a look at some beautiful interiors from Instagram that are brimming with color.

I am always in awe of the beautiful interiors of the wonderful Alessandra Branca. This room is just pure magic in my opinion. I love the colorful textiles and the unexpected art juxtaposed with the chocolate walls. You can also follow Alessandra on Instagram here. I have heard via the grapevine that she has a new book in the works. I own New Classic Interiors and you can purchase it on Amazon here.

I adore this colorful bathroom that Meta Coleman designed for her son. It is playful without being too “kiddie” looking don’t you think? You can also find Meta Coleman on Instagram here.

I couldn’t possibly do a post on Collected Colorful Interiors without featuring the uber talented Anna Spiro. She has a gift for layering colors and textiles like no other. Love her work. You can follow Anna on Instagram here. This sitting room checks all the boxes doesn’t it? You can purchase Anna’s books on Amazon here.

So glad the surgery went well for Steve. I love a collected mix. I also love color but no wallpaper in my house. I’ve never liked wallpaper. I don’t like looking at same thing on walls.

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Nancy

Funny that you mentioned wallpaper. I feel exactly the same way. I want something I can change without costing a fortune. The last wallpaper I had I was in my early twenties. I love it in others homes. I am just always fearful I would tire of it personally

So happy to hear Steve did well! Personally, I think they send people home too soon after surgery. Puts all the care-taking on you (of course you don’t mind, but its exhausting those first couple of days). Wow – beautiful colors and such fun to see all the different aesthetics.

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Barb

I kind of agree with you. I nearly panicked when they said he was coming home 4 hrs later. He was originally supposed to stay for 23 hours. I do understand the longer you are there the greater chance of catching something, infection etc. But you are spot on…exhausting for the first couple of days!

    Hi Cindy,
I was thinking about you both on Monday and sending good vibes your way. So happy to hear Steve is back home. As we age surgery becomes more challenging. We don’t have all the reserves that we used to. Or at least I don’t. Now all the healing begins. I bet you are the best care giver.
I enjoyed seeing the different interiors.

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Katherine

Thank you so much. I think your healing vibes helped. Today he felt great, nerve pumps removed (by us yikes!) Only taking extra strength tylenol all is good…now to heal..

Prefer neutral tones with a touch of eye catching colour like on pillows, mantas, a bold painted chair etc. ..all little things you can easily change or repaint

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Dianne

I will always continue to feature rooms with color. I like color myself. I just prefer a neutral backdrop.

I loved starting my very busy day reading your profile of Bianca. When I renovated my 1906 bungalow< I think I memorized her work. On visits to Chicago shopping, I love going to her shop to pick out a small gift for my living room. I am getting ready to tweet my great room, I need to look at how she would style this space. Don't you adore Branca Red!!
I am wearing my leopard jean jacket and black jeans and rollback to lunch today. I love your outfits of the week. I can really shop my closet–which is one of my 2023 intentions.

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Beth

I have walked past her charming Chicago storefront but have never been in. I was always with my sister who preferred a more modern approach to decor. Would love to at some point! I hear she is working on a new book. Can’t wait for that. I have always learned so much from her.

So glad he’s home and doing well. I LOVE COLLECTED COLORFUL INTERIORS!!! That room by Anna Spiro is TDF. Great post!!

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Gray

I love Anna’s work. I am not as bold as she is but I always learn something from every room.

Good for Steve. That’s great, for you both.
I love collected interiors. Alessandra design is beautiful.

Great news on Steve’s surgery. Home-made hot fudge sundays are top of the recovery list in my home.

  9. Elizabeth@pineconesandacorns says

So happy to hear that all went well with Steve~
Love all of these images and designers. My “colors” are jeweled tones, dark green, deep blue, burgundy but occasionally I will add a pop of something different. It is always fun to explore different styles and designs.
    Have a wonderful week Cindy.

And now Steve can start the healing process with lots of physio. I’ve had a knee and hip replacement so I know the effort it takes to work through the pain to regain your mobility.
I’m not one for colour, preferring a neutral home that is soothing to come home to. All that colour and pattern on pattern would make me restless. I do like a collected look with an antique piece in every room to juxtapose the newer pieces. I also like a touch of whimsy at times. The odd piece makes me smile and can be a good conversation piece. I do know some would find a neutral colour home boring and indeed we all need to be surrounded by what we love.

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Joanna

I have had two hip replacements as well. Unlike a hip or knee they have not started a bit of physical therapy. It will be interesting to see how that progresses. She does not want him to move hardly at all for the first few days and no weight on it for 10-12 weeks yikes! He has the knee scooter handy. I like you prefer a neutral backdrop as I said above. I prefer to add color with my accessories, that way I will not tire of it.

So glad to hear that Steve did so well! Now with his recuperating time he can help you design some wonderful colorful interiors, Love, J & B

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Judy & Bill

Ha! Steve has no intention of helping me with the blog and I don’t do any design at all anymore. He is hoping to play golf, volunteer, and enjoy life!!

  12. Mary from Life at Bella Terra says

Cindy, glad to hear the surgery went well! Wishing Steve (and you!) a quick recovery. Love some of the artwork in these photos…so fun. Thanks for sharing. It’s nice to see color and texture vs. gray and white.

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Mary

So far so good. We will find out how it is healing when we go in for his two week check up!

You had me swooning at Alessandra’s sofa and that amazing art piece above it— the depth of that piece is so INTERESTING! I love pink paint and once had a pink dining room. I love collected looks but lately I have had to pair way back on Knick knacks and “layers”. It kinda makes me feel “cluttered” when I’m actually living in those “collected” spaces. I have every design book known to man. My faves are Mark D Sikes.

    • Donna says

Would love to know the name of that art piece above the sofa. Any way we could find out?

      Thank you!

      • Cindy Hattersley says

        Hi Donna

I would contact Allesandra Branca’s Palm Beach store Phone: (561) 301-9996. I believe that photo was taken there.

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Karen

I know that vignette is just so good. Mark Sikes is a huge fave of mine as well. Amazing talent!
