What I am Working on Right Now and Survey Results

First of all a heartfelt thanks to all of you who filled out the survey.  I know things like this can be kind of a pain, so I really appreciate it.  It is a great help to me when planning my posts for the coming year.  I have a lot of new subscribers; this has been a big growth year for the blog.  I want to write about what interests you most. Thank you so much to those of you who take the time out of your day to read my posts and comment.  You guys truly are the best. Here we go with our Tuesday fun stuff, survey results and what I am working on right now because we need to have some pretty images to go along with all the information.

What would you like to read more about in 2019

#1 (a tie)Over 50 Fashion and Decorating Ideas and Tips

(this particularly pleased me because according to Pinterest (the holy grail) it is all about fashion and beauty tips!

#2 Ageless Style

Elizabeth and I really enjoy these posts so I am so happy you too enjoy them.

I will be collaborating with some new bloggers on this one in the coming year.

#5 My Home

This inspires me to spruce up my abode.  It needs it!

#6 Entertaining & Recipes

I entertain a lot and most of the time I forget to take photos.  I will try to be better about this!

#7 Gardening & My Gardening and My Garden and Project Design

This is a passion of mine.  Steve and I are trying to show the garden some love this year.  It too needs it!

We have a great Project Design post coming up next month on coffee table styling with some of our best and most talented blogging pals.

#8 Featured Interior Designers

I have a good one coming up

# 9 DIY

I am probably one of the original DIYers but I don’t post about it much and apparently you are happy that I don’t!

#10 Wine Tasting and Wine

There is plenty of this on my Instagram so I probably won’t post much on the blog.  I am working on a tasting room project which I think you will enjoy. More on that later.

The demographics

75% are 60 or older

20% 50-59

5% 40-49

This is fascinating because (Google the holy grail of analytics) has my demographic as youngish males and females that are interested in sports and computers (two things I write nothing about). Think something is out of whack here?

85% of you are from the USA

Canada, Great Britain and France make up the rest

States

#1 California

#2 Texas

#3 Illinois and Florida

#4 Pennsylvania & Tennessee

#5 Wisconsin, Ohio, New York, Mississippi, and Arizona

#6 Washington State

#7 Alabama, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey, North Carolina, South Carolina, and South Dakota

(hey Hoosiers how did you end up at the end?)

Social Media Outlets that provide you with the most Inspiration

43.9% Instagram

Hey just because we are over 60 doesn’t mean we aren’t tech savvy.

40.91 Pinterest

6.06 Facebook

9.09% Blogs

I was very happy to hear this.  I love Pinterest for pleasure and for work, and I am growing much fonder of Instagram. I only post my blog on facebook and enjoy a few groups.

Speaking of Blogs, the blogs you enjoy most…

#1 Design Indulgence

#2 Classic Casual Home

#3 Brenda Kinsel

#4 tie Vintage Contessa & Cote de Texas

The overall plan…. utilizing existing bar & floors, adding reclaimed wood shelving & accents for texture and warmth, brass & iron accents & fresh wall color…

Some link love from other blogs…

I always enjoy when Katie from the Preppy Empty Nester shares her favorite reads and movie releases.  She is always spot on with her choices so she takes the work out of searching

Jennifer from a Well Styled Life has a good post on how to look taller and slimmer (I am all over that one!).

Love these words of wisdom from Vicki Archer.

Well, that is it from me. I hope you enjoyed what I am working on right now and the survery results.  Hopefully next week I will get back on schedule and post on Monday and Thursday (which is always my plan but doesn’t always happen).

Also in case you aren’t local but may be in the bay area.  Mary Ann from Classic Casual Home, Kim from Northern California Style, and I will be having a meet and greet, and you will have a chance to seeand shop the beautiful Coyuchi line at the Coyuchi Pop Up. You are all welcome whether you are local or not just rsvinp via the eventbrite link. We are so excited to meet you guys!

Please post DIY…My heart jumped when I read your comment that you were one of the original DIYers!!! That is so much more exciting and creative than reading where to purchase certain items!, (even though that is great too!) I am always searching for that..still adore your previous Christmas posts and the work on the Brewery and the rental home! Etc.Etc. Am always in awe of creative talent like yours! I wish I filled out the survey!, ha! I would have tried to manipulate DIY to the top…

Good morning my friend. How funny that Google analytics has your demographics different than what you got back from your readers. Strange but fascinating. It is very encouraging to know that us mature bloggers have a mature audience out there, and how great that you have discovered what they wish to hear from you. Keep up the great work!

Cindy, I love seeing the results of your survey. It is interesting that you are seeing Blog growth this year when so many top bloggers are closing up shop as they say. I love following along on your design, fashion and garden adventures and am looking forward to more.

    Have a great day!
