How to Rock a Bohemian Christmas Table

Hi Everyone! We know it seems a little early but, Mary Ann, Annie and I are joining our talented friends, Celia (After Orange County), Kelly (the Polished Pebble), and Yvonne (Stone Gable) for some Christmas table inspiration.  I recently participated in a fundraiser for a local charity so I am sharing how to rock a Bohemian Christmas Table from that event.

HOW TO ROCK A BOHEMIAN CHRISTMAS TABLE

You could easily tailor this to Thanksgiving as well as the colors are a bit non-traditional. Let’s break down the elements that make this table rock.

Before creating the above I always start with an inspiration board (created on canva) with all the elements I am considering before diving in.

The event was outside in the Taylor Building Courtyard in Salinas.  I hung my vintage house vent on the fence and layered a Target Cockscomb wreath (from a few years back) over it.  I added foraged greens and pomegranates from my yard.

I covered a 48″ round table with a burlap table skirt and layered an ikat kantha quilt over the top. I covered the cushions on my chairs with my old fur pillows from Pottery Barn and added a couple of Ikat Dot pillows from Etsy.

I grabbed my Pier one twig chargers from the lake (shop below), my Anthro dishes. some old Ralph Lauren Zebra salad plates, and my own flatware.  Wine and green napkins were tied with green rag ties and foraged greens.

I draped a Pottery Barn throw over the back of the chair. I hung a world market hanging basket over the back filled with foraged greens, pomegranates, and berries from my yard. I made the sign by taking a picture of the quilt and creating a canva image over it.

The  centerpiece was constructed of button mums, celosia, foraged greens, twigs, hydrangeas, carnation bunches, and bells of ireland. The large moss balls I have had for years as well as the seed and green mercury balls.  Electric candles left over from Jenna’s wedding. and mercury glass votives finished off the look.

I have that wreath – it’s one of the best seasonal purchases I’ve made. I sprayed it with cheap hairspray as a little weather barrier, which deepened the color a bit, and I love it even more. Your table is stunning!

Just gorgeous, Cindy! I love the “out of the box” reds and greens. Gives me lots of ideas and inspiration for something different this holiday season.

    Cindy!
I love your Bohemian table on so many levels. I love how you used natural elements mixed with patterns and textiles. You are beyond creative and fearless when it comes to color and pattern, old and new, rustic and refined…it all works beautifully!
I wish I could see this in person…even with your beautiful photos, I feel like I need to touch to see all the layers.

Thank you so much Annie! I am completely in awe of your gorgeous tablescape! And it could be used at Thanksgiving as well. Love decor that can be transitional!

Thanks so much for inviting me to participate Cindy! I need a good nudge now and then to get blogging again. Love your arrangement and especially how you used your antique house vent. What a great color combo!
While I’m not exactly into the holiday decor yet this year I’m actually thinking about what I’m going to do so all the inspiration really helps!

Your colours are rich and festive. You make the most beautiful floral arrangements. Flowers must be readily available and affordable where you live. It’s simply gorgeous!
I’m not bohemian by any stretch of the imagination but I love this outdoor vignette!

These colors are so fresh and happy! I LOVE what you do with napkins. It would be so fun to be a guest at that table. Thanks for organizing this Project Design…I am so inspired!

Cindy, you are quite the Bohemian, a style that I learned to love 20 years ago when I spent a lot of time in Chile on business. There is a section of old town Santiago called the Bohemian sector where everything old is new again in the most delightful way. There is a subtlety that is difficult to achieve with this style, but when I think about it, who better than you, the “Rough Luxe” queen, to be the queen of Bohemian? Well done! Love all the texture and unexpected color.
