Popping in for a quick request! As we look ahead to 2026, I find myself reflecting on how much this community has grown and the wonderful conversations we’ve shared about aging with style, creating a home that tells a story, and embracing this vibrant chapter of life. This has always been a collaborative space, and as I begin planning for the year ahead, I want to ensure the content here continues to inspire, resonate, and serve you in hopefully meaningful ways. Whether you are looking for more “Ageless Style” spotlights, simple home updates, over 50 fashion hacks and tips, or candid chats about wellness and lifestyle, your voice is the most important part of the equation. This is your invitation to grab a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and help me shape our 2026 calendar. I can’t wait to hear what you would like to read more about! Summer and Gabi Xmas 2025

Summer’s outfit pants zara here, hoodie zara here, booties here (Steve’s jacket). My jacket here, jeans Frank and Eileen here, sweater ALC here, bag a few here, boots here. My nail color here.

If you could wave a magic wand and make me write about exactly what you need most right now relating to your wardrobe, home and aging positively in the coming year this is your best chance!! This survey is the next best thing. I’ve put together a handful of questions that will help me understand what content excites you, what topics you wish I covered more, and what would genuinely make a difference in your life. Your feedback matters more than you might think because it’s the compass that guides everything I create here. Two minutes of your time today means better, more relevant content for you all year long. Here is the link to the survey.

Why Your Voice Matters

Building a blog that truly serves you means understanding what you need, what inspires you, and what challenges you’re facing in your wardrobe, home, and life. Every reader who visits this site has different taste, different budgets, and different goals.

Without hearing directly from you, I’m essentially guessing at what might be helpful. This survey removes the guesswork and replaces it with real data from our community. Your input helps me prioritize topics, adjust my content calendar, and create resources that align with what you’re genuinely searching for. If you don’t want to take the time to respond via the survey, feel free to leave your answers in the comment section.

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday with your families, we sure did in spite of Jen having a bad case of the flu! I will be back on Tuesday with our first reader interview with Arleen who is 81 years young!!

  2. I, too, am unable to complete the survey so that it’s accepted. I have scrolled both right and left, from 1 through 7, and only placed one rating in each line…to no avail. I recall the same problem when you did the previous survey several years ago. I’m hoping you’ll give it a try yourself, to see what the problem might be.

    1. Hi Kathryn, is there a chance once of the other questions might not be completed? The other suggestion I would have is to try it on a different device to see if you are still having issues. We tested the survey prior to sending it out, with no submission issues. Please let us know if you are able to submit it after these options. Thank you!

  3. Just keep doing what you are doing Cindy. You’ve helped me find great clothes at an affordable price and then some pricier staples. If it’s out of my budget I move on. Love Quince! You also give us links from eBay and Etsy..love that. I stopped reading some bloggers because it’s all about buying more home decor that I just don’t need more of and I’ve seen their home repeatedly over and over. At 61 I enjoy things about life, of course clothes and aging…skincare…and sure any helpful tips on saving a buck to make my million is welcome! ha!
We have a 13yr. old grandson and he loves sports but isn’t quite the “sports competitive” type…a bit autistic but extremely smart and out going…I wonder what Summer likes to do..what are some of the kids/teens enjoying in your area? Any great life lesson books for the teens? Summer has your wonderful sense of style.
    Happy New Year!!

  4. Cindy, like me you must find it difficult to
begin thinking it will be “ 2026”. It takes me 2 weeks to date my checks correctly.
Just thought you would want to know we will look forward to everything you offer in 2026!

  5. Health care layers post age 65 . Which is best type Medicare, its collateral choices with other insurance to purchase, new changes to Medicare to beware yearly, lifestyles/foods/exercises/etc to remain out of any facility,

A penny saved is a new pair of shoes bought !!!

Huge current changes in skilled nursing, institutional elder care homes. Majaority do not know about setting up their home, legally, as a care home. Gather a couple more women, boom, you’ve afforded care.

How women can come together in a private home, creating their own legal care home with hired staff for help with chores, cooking, etc. Current trends in the care facility landscape not in the best interest of lone women.

Have had elder femail clients for decades, wealthy, widowed, yet forced into moving due to health issues. One wealthy friend, her brother legal caretaker, sold all her property/personal items, put her in care home with indigents, and he pocketed her wealth. Studied across Europe for decades, many trips with this lady. We laughed, we learned, we adored each other. Instead of her brother, she could have set up in- home care facility.

One of my older Church lady friends, and I’m old, hilarious/good dresser. We bonded over clothes I bought from ideas on your blog. She now loves you too !

  6. I tried to fill out the survey but it kept saying I had entered more than 1answer for some. I did not . I like your blog but like best the design/decorating, travel, and skin care type columns…fashion not so great. I think most of us have figured out as well as you by our age.. over 60.

  7. Thank you for your posts. I never miss them. You shared your Warby Parker sunnies but I’m quite interested in your regular glasses….most recently the ones in this holiday sleigh.

    1. Hi Maureen

The glasses (I love are from Peepers). I have tried and tried to find a similar pair at a higher quality. I even had Kyla add perscription lenses to them. Here is the link but I will warn you they aren’t very well made. https://go.shopmy.us/p-37209316. I will keep searching for a better quality pair like them!

  8. Very disappointed one question does not let me complete the survey. I have cleared the survey twice and still cannot submit because of that one question that requires each column filled in.

    1. Hi Maria! Thank you for the message. There are 7 different categories to rank in that question, and on your screen, you might need to scroll to the right in order to see all the options. Each of the 7 categories needs to be ranked in order to submit the survey responses. Please let me know if that answers your question or if you need more clarification. Thank you!

  9. Cindy, something doesn’t work… won’t accept my ranking answers, as Juliane B also said…so cannot submit my completed survey.

  11. I filled out the survey but have thought of more interests….
Games, activities, books that grandparents have found desirable by their grandchildren
Reviews of the DIY nail fashion that seems to have exploded, ie: sticker nail wraps, like “Diva Gloss & Dashing Diva” & “Ohora”, Gel polish, both the stickers and the gels can be UV cured or not cured, powder like Sistaco, press ons, favored brands for lasting manicures, favored polish colors since they seem to be hit or miss. You can’t really tell a color til you see it on.

Thank you Cindy for asking! Looking forward to your posts in 2026!

  12. I’m disappointed to not be able to complete the survey. One question that has the columns is either confusing for me because I have completed it several times and it will not take my submission because of the question.

OMG are you kidding? We all do!! My eyelashes are barely there, my eyebrows (once I called them thunderclouds when I was younger) are thinning, and the only reason I do not have trouble with my nails is because I take collagen (and so does my husband). The first thing he noticed was that his nails quit breaking! We take the vital proteins that you can get at Costco.

  13. Hi Cindy,
Although I spent time offering thoughtful answers to your survey, following all directions, the “submit” link will not oblige. So assuming you never receive it, my response to what else you’d like us to cover, is this: Building a versatile, primarily casual capsule-like (i.e., not tons of pieces) wardrobe with NO BLACK for those of us with “fall” color needs. Also, more posts like your especially helpful ones on accessorizing a sweatshirt/sweatpant outfit for various occasions, making an outfit “artsy,” and dressing up everyday pieces for more formal or special occasions. As inferred in my comment above, adding interest to everyday jeans and sweater/t-shirt without overdoing it (I live in a rather casual city with uninspired fashion inclinations!). Thanks for asking!

Thank you for providing your great suggestions here as well.

  14. Hi Cindy, The features ranking area on the survey doesn’t seem to work. It keeps showing the error that I have selected more than one ranking per line when I haven’t done that. So it doesn’t let me submit the form.

    1. Hi Susan! Thank you for the message. There are 7 different categories to rank in that question, and on your screen, you might need to scroll to the right in order to see all the options. 15. Thank you for asking what we are interested in.
I have tried on numerous devices, keeps telling me that I should not answer more than once on ranking question, but have only answered once and will not let me submit.
    Great blog

    1. Hi VV

I would suggest clearing your cache and trying again. Sorry for the inconvenience. If that doesn’t work leave your thoughts in the comments!!

  16. I have a suggestion. I know that youtube is loaded with ladies talking about fashion. I don’t really recall very many talking about how a senior lady should create an affordable capsule wardrobe. I worked in a very conservative field so when I retired I got rid of suits and high heel shoes! I retired very early, and I totally recreated my wardrobe. Fast forward a number of years and I still enjoy a well curated wardrobe. Some items are investment pieces that I have owned for a number of years, while some come from places like J. Crew, Talbots and even Target. Also, when I said above about creating an affordable capsule wardrobe I meant help average ladies build their wardrobe over a period of time and not create any credit card debt doing it. When I have been out shopping I sometimes shake my head when I see what people are spending their money on.
