Friday Fun Stuff

Happy Valentines Day!  We went to dinner with friends last night and today we are headed up to babysit for little Summer.  Let’s get down to business for some Friday Fun Stuff.

Heather Bullard, a stylist I respect very much has a great tutorial on How to Style a Display Cabinet that I think you will find very inspiring and helpful.

This time of year we are all in organization mode. I cleaned out about half of my closet but now need to tackle the drawers.  Imogen from Inside Out Style has some good tips on how to do it here  Five Things to Consider When Doing a Wardrobe Cleanout from Inside Out Style Blog

I am still on Weight Watchers and I find so many vegetable-based soups can easily be tweaked just a bit and become ww friendly.  This Roasted Cauliflower soup adapted from Damn Delicious is a favorite.  I find that people who don’t care for  cauliflower like this one.

Do you follow Jill Sharp Studio on Instagram.  I am in awe of her keen styling ability.  I recently ordered this console for a client and am about to order for my son and daughter in law. Of course, Jill took the styling up a notch!

I am constantly trying new beauty products, particularly lipsticks.  Here are five finds that I am loving right now.  The buxom lip pencil can be worn under a more moisturizing lipstick or on its own if you are lazy like me sometimes.  It does not creep into the dreaded creases around the lip line.  The Bobbi Brown Crayon comes in tons of colors and it can be totally worn on its own and is not too drying like some.  I am always searching for a good lip primer, and I always come back to this one.  For me personally it is the best on the market right now.

The Lancome art liner was recommended by a Sephora clerk.  I do not have a very steady hand but even I can make this one work. I like the color smoke because it isn’t as harsh as black.  LOVE THIS!! I recently tried several new mascaras (one very expensive and awful!).  Benefit seems to have the best mascaras and this one is my current favorite. Click on the pics below to purchase.

Last but not least, there is still time to whip up something special for your sweetie, in case the weight watchers soup doesn’t excite him. Sue from the View from Great Island has some decadent chocolate desserts you can make from your pantry.

I have been a long time fan of Heather’s, too. I have bought two pieces of pottery from her shop. What are you doing on WW? You’re so tiny already. I’m the one who should be on it, but I have always easily put weight on and I keep it on especially now at 64. I’m to the point that I am learning to except my body. I cut out sugar and soft drinks years ago, eat rather healthy and it just isn’t going anywhere. I was even working out every other day an it didn’t do a thing. I still need to exercise of course for my health and well being, but I sure don’t like to. That soup looks delicious so I may try it. Not sure hubby will like it though.

Happy Valentine’s Day to you and Steve. I so enjoy reading your posts!
A moisturizing lipstick I have tried that I like is ‘Color Your World’ brand. It is an online product. I tried it and like it! It’s vegan and all-natural, and comes in a variety of colors. 🙂

      Hi Patrice
It is from Noir Furniture. They are an L.A based wholesale furniture company. It is called the New York Sideboard, and comes in two sizes. You can search online and see if you can find it. I am sure someone online probably has it. Good Luck!

Katie, I bet the mister could whip up that soup! It is delicious! Oddly enough, sweets are not my downfall. Pasta, pizza and bread get me every time!

Happy Valentines Day, Cindy! Love your Friday Fun Day bits and bobs post. WW cauliflower soup is a good one. Are you doing meetings or online version? I did the meetings for 13 years…it works!

    • Cindy Hattersley says

I am doing the online version Karen. I did the meetings years ago and this works better for me personally. All I really need is food tracking and watching my weight in writing! I am almost back to where I was. My weight stays fairly steady in my old age. I just need a little boost every once in awhile. We eat like that most of the time, but southern travels, and the holidays set me back this year!
