My Patriotic Playlist
I came up with this playlist a few years ago. I am sure there are many more I could add to the list now, but this will give you a good start. Please chime in with some of your favorites!

Where to find Last Minute Patriotic Decor
Pottery Barn has some great patriotic decor here.
Amazon has great options for flags in every size imaginable here. I need to order a few new ones. Summer likes to decorate with them for the summer holidays.
Crate and Barrel is having a Memorial Day Sale here.
With all of the festivities (bbq’s, and memorial day parades with family and friends) we need to remember that next memorial day weekend is a day to honor our local veterans and those who are currently serving in our military for their sacrifices. Don’t forget to fly the american flag, purchase a poppy in appreciation of the veterans of foreign wars who have made the ultimate sacrifice. If you are near va hospitals volunteer, drop off some cookies, visit arlington national cemetery in the usa, or flanders fields in Europe. Share a national moment of remembrance.
That’s it from my desk this week. We just had a wonderful three days with Summer and her daddy while her mom was at a bachelorette party. She is growing up so fast!! She will be back next weekend to help me decorate for the holiday. Thank you for reading five festive ways to celebrate Memorial Day in style.
Now let’s pop over and visit Mary Ann and Annie for more Sunday fun.

On Memorial Day I will be wearing my POW/MIA bracelet and remembering Capt. Daniel G. Dawson from Ft. Bragg, California. Capt. Dawson is missing in action in South Vietnam since Nov. 6, 1964. At 11:11am pacific time on Memorial Day I will honor in my heart all of the veterans who have died in service to our nation. (This can also de done at 3pm your local time).

Hi Barbara
Thank you so much! You are the best!
For the 4th of July, I’d add, “I’m a Yankee Doodle Dandy” by George Cohen. A classic.
Hi Maeve
Yes of course!!
Hobby Lobby has fantastic red white and blue for the holidays.
Love your song list and the red sandals!
Hi Pam
Thanks! Not sure if I can make it there with the pup..but I bet they do!!
Great list of songs and would only add the official anthems of the Armed Forces – Anchors Aweigh, The Marine’s Hymn, etc. I love your blog!
Hi Maggie
Great suggestion!!
The song that comes to my mind is “You’re A Grand Old Flag” by George Cohan.
OMG yes Pam!!
One of my favorite “patriotic” songs is American Tune by Paul Simon. Love your blog! ❤️💙❤️💙♥️💙
Yes! I came to say the same.
Hi Nancy
Keep those suggestions coming!!
I love the tablescapes and the red sandals!
From the Ken Burns stunning documentary, THE WAR, Norah Jones sings, “American Anthem.” The music and lyrics always make me cry. Our family always listens to this on Memorial Day before we start our celebration. One line is, “American, I gave my best to you,”
Lynn
Thank you! I added it to my list!!
Thank you. I should proofread – the last line should say, “America.”
So powerful thanks for sharing…and how did I miss that Ken Burns doc…love him!!
THESE ARE GREAT ideas for July 4…we are having a party on July 3! So nice you get to see Summer again! I want those red sandals!
