Christmas Tidbits you will Love

Did Christmas season come quickly to anyone else but me? Yikes! I planned to share my Christmas Decor last Thursday (that didn’t happen) and then I thought maybe today…whoops nope! I promise I will on Tuesday. I did finish it. I love decorating for Christmas don’t get me wrong but it crept up on me this year. Today I am joining my pals for our Sunday faves. Let’s chat about Christmas Tidbits you will Love.

Spiced Persimmon Tart with Brandy Mascarpone

We have the most amazing neighbors. They are the best entertainers and cooks. Last night they invited us over for dinner with our newest neighbors. Freddie and John served this amazing tart from Sunset Magazine.

It was as delicious as it was beautiful.

What’s Your Favorite Christmas Movie?

Steve and I watched the Holiday a few nights ago for probably the 9K time. I still love it. Any suggestions for good Christmas movies?

Sassy Workout/Dog Walking Gear on Sale at Athleta

Athleta is having 50% off best selling gifts (which includes a lot of workout gear). This is a good time to grab your favorite athletic gear before everything is full price in January.

I bought a pair of these fleece lined leggings last year and love them. I am ordering the red. The wool turtleneck is a must for walking (or sitting at my computer) in the winter. The featherless vest is not on sale but I get compliments on this wherever I wear it. I LOVE how it covers the bum. There are several on eBay in different colors here. I own it in olive and black. I need these fleece slipper/shoes for the house, or a quick walk from Amazon. The cashmere gloves and beanie are from Quince. Several people on my list will be getting these!

Christmas Lights in The Park

Paso is so festive during the holidays. I am always in awe of the light display in the park downtown.

Christmas Lights in the Park Paso Robles

My big 70 is coming up and and I shared what I might wear to my 70th in my post on Friday here. I am loving all your suggestions and comments. I will be back on Tuesday (I promise) with my holiday indoor decor. Now let’s pop over and visit Mary Ann and Annie to see what they are sharing today. Thanks for reading Christmas Tidbits you Will Love. I am off to decorate for our neighborhood party.

  1. My husband and I sold our restaurant about 20 years ago and took an extended “vacation”. We found a house on a ranch in Paso for rent on Craigslist and took a year off to relax and recharge. We loved it! The downtown square is so charming, very similar to the square in Healdsburg, Sonoma, and Hollister and many of the older California towns. Love that. Human scale, fun activities, chances of running into people you know are very high!
Every time we drive down from the Bay Area we check out the Paso area and Cambria/Cayucos/central coast area for property. Love the area and the lifestyle, especially when we retire some time in the next 5-10 years.
Love the blog, visit every week!

  2. Cindy! Can’t wait to see what you wear for your parry!!! It will be perfect o do know that!!

  3. Hi, Cindy! Best Christmas movie is an oldie, The Bishop’s Wife with Cary Grant and Loretta Young. Don’t feel bad about Scout not posing for photos. It seems as though Goldens are born ready for their close-up. Happy Birthday!

  4. Love Actually is one of my favourite Christmas movies. Quite enjoyed the Family Stone, but when I rewatched it a couple of years later, I changed my mind and decided the family, especially Dianne Keaton’s character were rude, unfriendly and pretty horrible (this is my opinion of course). Have a wonderful 70th and glam it up – it is a a milestone worth celebrating.

  5. Cindy! That persimmon tart … gorgeous. Nothing better than cheffy neighbors. Fleece lined leggings sound like somethings we all need to get us through the chilly months. Wishing you a very happy birthday and birthday celebration. Looking forward to pictures of your Christmas decor and the party. xo

    1. Suggestion to watch Colin from Accounts. COLIN is a DOG! Australian, funny.
BTW, I’m 74, held a big party, at home, for 35 friends, for my 70th, and did all the cooking myself. It was marvellous!

    2. Hi Juliet

  8. We enjoy watching while you were sleeping with Sandra Bullock and Bill Pullman. This is really corny but my HH loves The Muppet Christmas Carol with Michael Caine,

    1. Hi Suzanne

I feel like I may have watched While you Were Sleeping but I cannot remember. I love Sandra Bullock and Bill Pullman! How could you go wrong with the muppets and Michael Caine?

  9. From one December 15th birthday girl to another to another, I wish you a Happy 70th! I’ll be joining the “7th Decade” club myself next year. Cheers,

  10. When I think of you I think of the CP Shades Lily skirt. Although I live in Canada I was able to track down a black and cream colored one. They are wonderful. I liked you in the Lily skirt, rag and bone jacket and hat… I too love hats I think you wear them well, that said you look great in most items. I also liked you in the black leather pants with brown turtleneck and black and brown scarf. And again the hat! Please enjoy your birthday I’m a few years from 70 and you set a great example of how to live and enjoy your life!
