Christmas Past Berries and Branches

For eight years I was involved in a show house tour that benefitted our local hospital.  Last year was the final year.  I have shown snippets of the houses I was involved with on the blog for the last two years.  Since I can’t show the décor in my own home until Monday the 14th, I thought I would show you some highlights from years past.  The first two years I only did a room and I don’t have any pictures of those. I apologize for the quality of the pictures as they are all quick shots with a cell phone.

This house from 2008 was a group effort with four of us along with the very talented owner who is also a designer.
This tree I remember well because we had three different designers working on it..myself, the owner, and another “retired” designer whose house I helped with many years ago.  It took forever but it was “near perfection” when completed!

In 2009 in addition to the homes, two of us decorated two of the tent cabins from what is now known as the Vision Quest Ranch B&B and the Monterey Zoo.  Information for the bed and breakfast can be found here http://wildthingsinc.com/html/b-b1.html.   This proved to be a lot of work and challenging as it involved removing all of the furniture and replacing it. This also was the first year that I utilized my friend Pat Huber’s beautiful artwork here. She had just returned from a trip to Africa so her art was the focal point

The only piece of furniture that I salvaged was the bed.  My husband added a twig frame to it. I still have these Pom Pom at Home bed linens on one of my guest beds and you may have recognized the ottomans from my daughters home!

In 2010 I was blessed with a house of a former designer and it had a fall theme so I will skip that one.  In 2011 we did my friend and client Barbie (who has since moved to Tahoe) to the home you have seen snippets of.  I had a team of talented volunteers including Barbie that were wonderful!

Each chair was adorned with one of these mini wreaths.  They were made from simple craft store mini grapevine wreaths.  I glued tiny bits of Christmas décor on with a glue gun and made the paper ribbon scripts on the computer.  We affixed them with upholstery tacks and ribbon.

I created this crazy lady for her bathroom. She has been reincarnated this year in my own home look for her here on Monday. I showed a sneak peek if you follow me on Instagram.

I will be back on Friday with the last two years of the tour, and Monday I will show you my own home decorated for the holidays.  Be sure and stop by and see all of the bloggers wonderful homes here
