There’s a reason this aesthetic keeps resurfacing in both design and fashion. It’s history-rich, it layers beautifully with almost anything you already own, and at its best it reads as informed and appreciative rather than costume-y. Done well, it’s all about craftsmanship, heritage motifs, and centuries of design influence, not a theme party. Asian-Inspired Rooms I am Loving

I love a collected global look and I’ve been collecting screenshots of rooms that use chinoiserie wallpaper, vintage bamboo, and blue-and-white porcelain with restraint, a room that happens to include these pieces the way you’d include a good vintage rug.

Choose one or two Chinese vintage pieces to anchor the room, a wooden armoire, a screen, a piece of blue and white porcelain, and let them do the work rather than crowding the space with more.

Outfits of the Week: The Frog Closure Is Having a Moment

Frog closures are everywhere right now, on everything from a lightweight linen shirt to a proper structured jacket, and I’m loving them. There’s something about that little knotted button detail, the kind of thing that makes an otherwise simple piece feel considered. I would wear this Zara shirt/jacket now and the fabulous Farm Rio jacket as soon as weather permits.

Asian Inspired Home Decor & Accessories

I love a room that’s traveled a little, a piece from here, an idea borrowed from there, a house that reads like a life rather than a showroom. I’m never going to be the person who commits to a fully Asian-inspired room, that’s not how I decorate.But an accessory or two, a ginger jar, a piece of blue-and-white, something with real weight and a real story behind it, that I’ll always make room for.
