Are you Ready for a Splash of Color in your Wedding Attire and Home Decor?

Happy Sunday everyone! Today as always I am joining my friends Annie and Mary Ann for our Sunday favorites. Are you Ready for a Splash of Color in your Wedding Attire and Home Decor? Let’s chat about it.

Half Baked Harvest-Harvest Salad

We had lunch with friends at Daou winery yesterday and they served the most delicious salad. It was similar to this salad from Half Baked Harvest., what made it interesting was the Harissa Dressing which you can find here from Non Guilty Pleasures.

Outfit of the Week

I think wedding attire is difficult for women our age. I have had so many emails lately about what to wear and shoes are a problem as well. This outfit that I put together is a little unconventional, but the beautiful beaded mules from Etsy inspired me. This etsy shop has many beautiful options if you are looking for something more casual as well. The skirt is cotton from Reformation (it has pockets). I think it could be dressed up for a wedding or you could also wear it more casually with a tee and sandals. The earrings are from Etsy, the necklace is vintage J Crew. You can find similar rhinestone necklaces on eBay here, or on Poshmark here. I will have a post soon on wedding attire.

Sean Symington Design

While researching last weeks post It’s Not Your Mother’s Table Skirt, I stumbled upon the beautiful work of UK Designer Sean Symington, photographed by Chris Wakefield. If you need a little color to chase away the winter doldrums, you will love Sean’s cheerful interiors. You can follow Sean Symington on Instagram here. You can also follow Chris Wakefield here.

I am not normally a fan of pink but this kitchen in Sean’s own home had me at hello.

I think that was confusing at first and many of you felt forced to sign up again! I have also heard from several people that have been unable to sign up for the newsletter. Let me know if any of you are also having problems. I will look into that tomorrow.

Thank you for reading “Are you Ready for a Splash of Color in your Wedding Attire and Home Decor?”. That’s it from my desk this week. Let’s pop over and visit Mary Ann and Annie for their Sunday favorites.

Cindy, love your Sunday posts! I love Sean and have a post about him in my queue(great minds think alike). English design is my style and right up my alley. As for the colorful additions it is always nice to have a pop of color.

~ Hi Cindy H. It’s been a while since I posted on your site. I own/operate a busy real estate investment company and am always on the go. Regarding Fashion Over 50 (Spring Wedding) I would like to add that not only am I over 50, I’m well over 60 (I will hit the BIG 70 in early October). Having worked in the New York City rag trade and women’s retail, I’ve learnt to think outside the box. That means I own my style; it suits me. For instance, I ADORE Old Gringo cowgirl boots and wear them year round. My husband and I live in the mountains so, the terrain is rugged. Thinking outside the box, I’d wear cowgirl boots underneath my wedding gown (should hubby and I renew our wedding vows) and perhaps in lieu of a veil, a cowgirl hat–the whole outfit accessorised with turquoise jewellery. BTW, I like your new website and haven’t encountered any problems. Cheers, keep up the great work! ~

You are a masterful shopper.Love your links and ideas. Always something to drool over. Now I might have to start another collection of jewelry a la J.Crew. You’ve got the best ideas. ou’re always a treat I look forward to, especially on Sundays.

      Hi Sandra

J Crew’s tortoise items are the best. You are a good eBay & Poshmark shopper. That’s where mine all came from!

Cindy! That salad looks amazing. And I love your wedding guest style ideas … I can see you in this. And those mules are the showstopper. Pinning away those Sean Symington photos. I never considered a pink kitchen … but maybe it’s time! xo

      Hi Juliet

Isn’t Sean Symington wonderful? I would never have the guts to do a pink kitchen but it is lovely, isn’t it? Those mules are to DIE for aren’t they? I have a wedding to go to in June, I may be wearing a version of that!!

Great post. I “liked” so many statement J Crew necklaces on Postmark after seeing this. I didn’t know they had such great pieces.
For my son’s June destination wedding I ended up choosing a Tuckernuck black dress with gold lace on the sleeves. Gold heels and a simple god chain.
It was only after ordering/returning/trying over 10 dresses.
Thank you as always for your beautiful posts.

Good luck with new site issues. Such a pain and so frustrating. It looks amazing! I love that all the ads are gone. It will be so much easier to follow the posts.

    Hi Cindy,

I love your block and Sundays are my favorite. The outfit of the week looks fun but the link to shop the link is not working on my end.

Also…on mine the shop the look never comes up. I notices it on the last post too. Always enjoy seeing where to find items. Otherwise…love it!

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Kim

This was my typo. Friday was a nightmare. I linked all of Friday’s items individually, so you can find the items now.

    Hi Cindy~
Happy Sunday. I tried to subscribe again to your newsletter and I got the error message again. Here’s what it says after I fill in my name and email and try to subscribe:

Your submission failed because of an error.

    • Cindy Hattersley says

      Hi Cindy

Did I try to add you manually? Several people have had trouble lately. I will try and add you manually. Okay! I found out what the problem is hopeully. Try again. Google has added another layer of “authenticity”. Gotta love Google. I had to verify my domain. It still would not let me subscribe you. Give it a try and let me know. I will call my email provider again if there are still problems.
