Today on the blog I am joining @classiccasualhome @most_lovely_things @northerncalstyle @makemineaspritzer and @sherisilver for some Valentine fun. You don’t need to run out and buy a bunch of holiday specific items you will never use again to create a pretty vollected tablescape. I used linens & tableware that Zi already owned. I went to my local templeton antique mall and purchased some old keys and vintage silver napkin rings, grabbed four @volupsa.candles from @houseofmosely, a bunch of tulips from @traderjoes and put them in a vase from @anthropologie. Do you enjoy using what you have to create memorable tablescapes? I would love to hear about them in the comments.

I was out all day so haven’t had time to post. This is one of my favorite bouquets from my former garden @david_austin_roses the prince. It would never survive here in the heat. It was absolutely magnificent early spring in my former home. I miss so many of my antique & @david_austin_roses. I am working on that. Any suggestions for old roses or @david_austin_roses that can tolerate heat?

I am finally getting around to some of the details

I am finally getting around to some of the details in our new home. We have a very large great room which I love but it was in desperate need of rugs and window coverings. I purchase this @luluandgeorgia rug for the dining space and natural rugs for the living and kitchen area. More on that to come. I wanted the rugs to compliment one another but not be “matchy matchy”. I think we achieved that. Natural blinds and curtain panels to come. The table was made by Steve when our children were young. The chairs were custom monograms by @cottagebydesign. I will post links in stories and shop my insta above. Have a great evening!!

I have had so many people ask me about wedding attire for those of us over 50 and beyond. I don’t know about you but I having “one off dresses”. I spotted this great dress @anthropologie tiered dress and thought it could easily do double duty as an appropriate dress for a Spring wedding and something much more casual. I love that this dress is a pattern but not as busy as many of these tiered dresses. Most have too much pattern and frills for someone our age to pull off. What do you think? ..
