KARI MCINTOSH DESIGN ON INSTAGRAM
I remember when I encountered the talented SF designer Kari McIntosh’s work at a Traditional Home showhouse in Napa Valley several years ago, Every one of her designs is unique but with a common thread. She isn’t afraid to add a pop of color to each of her spaces for interest. If you aren’t following her on Instagram, I think you would enjoy her work and you might want to give her a follow. She is very creative and embraces a “collected look”. You can check out her website here.
This bedroom for the Trad Home Showhouse photographed by the talented John Merkl, had me at hello. Note the pop of ice green on the chaise and the fabulous headboard.
This was the floral arranging room she created for a San Francisco showhouse.

A COLORFUL PERSONALITY TURNS 5
Yesterday, I traveled up to the bay area for Summer’s 5th birthday (Steve was still under the weather with a bug), No one enjoyed the party more than Summer! What a difference a year makes. The kids had a great time and hardly a tear in site. Kindergarten bound in the fall.
She’s growing up so fast. Here she is in the same spot at last year’s birthday. You can see scenes from her 3rd Birthday here.

I love their designs and I think you will be interested in their story. In 2011, fashion executive Abrima Erwiah joined the actor and activist Rosario Dawson and formed Studio 189 a sustainable fashion and lifestyle brand operating between New York City and Accra, Ghana.

A COLORFUL OUTFIT OF THE WEEK
I thought it would be fun to have a little color this week. I love this eyelet shirt from J Crew. I paired it with my favorite jeans, fun sandals, earrings from Etsy, and a practical hat.

I know many of you love the lily skirt from CP Shades but wish they were cheaper. Here are a few lily skirts in various sizes on eBay this week, one in navy here. The seller is calling this one a fanny but I am pretty sure it is a lily by the cut.

Sorry to hear that Steve is under the weather, hope he is on the mend soon. As for Summer, happy birthday to your sweet granddaughter. She has the most beautiful smile and always looks so happy.

I have seen that skirt but was afraid to recommend it without trying it. Of cours, it is not cut the same way the lily is (part of what makes it so flattering) and some of the comments said it was not cotton and linen? Was yours? Thank you so much for sharing. I am so glad you found an inexpensive substitute. I know Amazon can be hit and miss.

Happy Birthday, Summer! What a great job on the face paint…I want someone to do that for me (a great distraction from crinkles). You’ve seen a picture of my little grandson, just one year older, but I’m sure Summer would tower over him. Sorry Steve didn’t feel up to going as well as being considerate not to share anything, should it be contagious. I love anything eyelet and that blouse is a delicious color.
I think Summer and your grandson would make a darling couple…who knows one day?!! Isn’t that blouse great? I love eyelet too!
