Over 50 Fashion; One Tunic Two Ways

I just ordered this fabulous tunic from Artful Home.  I think it is one of the best additions to my wardrobe I have added recently.  It is a crinkly linen so it doesn’t wrinkle (very packable), the color is heavenly, and it can be worn multiple ways.  I have already worn it several times.

The Portofino Tunic from Carol Turner for Artful Home is pure heaven. The Melish Cloche Hat looks a lot like a much more expensive brand for a lot less.  The Hue Capri leggings are comfy and a great value.  If you are looking for a great beach read “Slightly South of Simple” hits the mark.  I love books about Southern Women and their relationships and there is a little surprise if you are of a certain age.  If you are looking for a flip flop with some arch support that doesn’t look clunky you will love the Olukai Ho Opio. They also come in every color imaginable.  I just ordered them and am planning to order in other colors as well. Love the pretty metallic beach bag from Anthropologie and who doesn’t love a great pair of Ray Bans.

Portofino Tunic by Carol Turner for Artful Home, Pretty  Embroidered Linen Shawl (super inexpensive and great looking), Fun, textural, Jessica McClintock Clutch (great value), French Kande Chemin de Fir Pendant Necklace, French Kande Medallion Bracelet, Great Looking and comfy Born Casma Sandals, French Kande Medallion Choker (love anything French Kande), Melissa Styles for  Artful Home Web Cuff, Lisette Montreal Ankle Pant for Artful Home.
Here is a shot of me wearing the Portofino Tunic, taken by Elizabeth (aka the vintage contessa), while lunching at her lovely home.

By the way coming  late April Elizabeth and I will be beginning an every other month ageless style series featuring women with great style. In the meantime stop by Elizabeth’s blog.  It will bring a smile to your face. I may be out of the loop for a bit…hopefully I am getting my hip replaced tomorrow!!

Cindy, Adore this whole look! It's such a California vibe. I need the tunic, the hat and the cute bag, but those flip-flops are pretty too. Always love your fashion posts and plan to get those sandals I wrote about. Appreciate your input! xo Kim

Dear Cindy, I'm a little late to this party but I wanted to send you my very best wishes for a speedy recovery. We will miss you while you are gone. Thanks for teaming up with the amazing Contessa. I look forward to your upcoming fashionable posts for us 50 somethings. XO

That Melish Hat. I swear to you, Elizabeth sent me to your blog for a reason! I've been looking for a hat that isn't expensive. I need to protect my face due to the Mohs surgery I had from years of being very naughty in the sun. The price is ridiculously purse-friendly and will pack very well when I leave for France in June.
The tunic. Listen, I just made my very first "gauze" clothing purchase at J. Crew Factory last week. I love the dress because it's very light and airy. The tunic is adorable–and you are adorable too. That pic at the Contessa's house is very pretty and happy!
The date night look is very stunning too. For me, I like my feet to look a bit slutty so I wear pointy toed high heels on date night. People think my Frenchman and I are quite the hot couple because it appears we are clinging to each other with lust when in reality, I can't walk in the shoes so I have to literally cling onto him!
I do not know you but I'm glad that your hipster surgery went well my new friend!!

      Hi Catherine

Ha!! I do not wear shoes like that anymore! It is way too much work. I do the best I can to find flat shoes that don't look too "old lady". Thanks for the good wishes on my surgery! I read your blog whenever I get a chance!!

♥♥♥ this style on you, you are adorable. I can't wear this look, but boy oh boy you sure can!! Hope you are on the mend and able to take it easy!!

    • Cindy says

Thank you Kathy Sue. The great thing about getting older is we finally have figured out what looks best on us and we don't have to follow fads. I am sure you have your own personal style honed in.

Hi Everyone had the surgery this morning @7:39 so far so good. Walked down hall no pain only taking extra strength Tylenol!! I am sure tomorrow will be harder!!

Cindy, you look gorgeous, and I am hoping you are recovering nicely without issue. Sending light as I type these words. Loving the neutral picks. These are the "colors" I'm most comfy in even though I look washed out! I need to buy some new things–those flip flops! Never met a pair I didn't like…I'm a beach girl all the way. xox

    • Cindy says

Michele seriously you will love those flip flops. They have enough support to make them comfortable but not so much that they look clunky! I want to order one of every color!!

It doesn't seem fair that we are shopping for the cute things on your blog and you are having surgery. Bill and I are hoping and praying for smooth sailing and a fast turnaround.

    • Cindy says

I am definitely on the mend…Bill is right the second time is even easier…I think they just keep refining the surgery.

Hey Cindy – Good luck with your surgery! I had my left hip done the middle of December (my right was done a few years ago) and I cannot tell you how wonderful the change has been. A couple of tips – eventhough you might feel fabulous, do not over do it in the beginning, and do your physical therapy and recommended exercizes religiously! I'll be thinking of you.

    • Cindy says

Cindy you are so right…I over did it a couple of days ago. Now I am behaving and I have a great physical therapist! I already feel better than I did before! Thanks for the tips!!

    Cindy,

Good luck with your surgery. I just spoke to a good friend that has had both done and said it was pretty smooth sailing and so worth it.

Love your fashion series always. I'll look forward to the series.
    xo,
    Karen
