Our Project has been selected for Better Homes and Gardens Kitchen & Bath Makeovers

We are so excited that to announce that the kitchen of our Lorimer project has been selected for Better Homes and Gardens Kitchen & Bath Makeovers.  The incredible team of Field Editor and Stylist Bonnie Broten and Photographer John Granen  just finished shooting the kitchen for an upcoming issue. Those of you who have been following my blog now understand why I showed a couple of pictures of the kitchen and then abruptly halted the rest of the story.  Bonnie contacted me immediately and within a few days it was selected.  So now the wait is on to see when it will appear!

We feel so fortunate to have such a fantastic team guide us through the process. It was such a rewarding learning experience for the three of us (Steve, Colin, and I ) to watch the two of them collaborate.

Steve was fascinated by John’s ability to find just the right shot to successfully convey the story.

Prior to the shoot Bonnie and I had many conversations and picture exchanges regarding what should be gathered from my stash to enhance the shoot, what should be eliminated etc.  Once Bonnie arrived we loaded up my car, headed to the project and got to work.  Bonnie has a very natural approach to the styling process which I really appreciate.  As you can see in the picture below she also had a gift for making sure the whole shoot was fun for everyone!

We have lots of exciting things coming up here on the blog.  Stay tuned for an online store coming soon!

Yes, that kitchen was a winner. Although it was a ton of work, I loved the photo shoot and styling process. I learned a lot. I'm so excited for you–it must be so rewarding!– and I look forward to seeing it in print.
