The Bristol Shirt for Artful Home and Monterey Wine Country Beauty

This has been a trying time of late, and I am super busy with work (everyone wants everything done by Christmas!) I have been posting on Instagram, but have done little else.  My dad fell right before Thanksgiving (he will be 95 next week) and was in the hospital for 5 days. He is now in Rehab 30 minutes South of my home.  Between dementia and his age, I think we are going to be looking at a skilled facility. I know he would never want to live this way but what do you do when the mind goes before the body.  He is not enjoying life at this point so it is very difficult.   While Jenna and Darius were here we took a little time played tourist at home. We took a trip up the River Road Wine Trail and ended at the facility where my dad is.

We live right across the highway from the famed Santa Lucia Highlands (home to wonderful Pinot Noirs). Sometimes you need to take the time to appreciate the beauty in your own backyard. Below is a shot taken from the car of the beautiful property of the owner’s of the wonderful Roar Wines.

We stopped at our favorite River Road Winery Wrath and enjoyed the views with a glass of wine.

The day was absolutely balmy.  I wore the Bristol Shirt from Comfy USA for Artful Home.  Comfy happens to be one of my favorite brands.  Their tunics are always a hit with me. The fabrics are crisp and need very little ironing.  They are great for travel as well. The stripe placement creates a really flattering line on this particular tunic. As an extra incentive, Artful Home is having a free shipping event from December 10-15!!

I am wearing an XS. My daughter Jenna snapped these pics before we left.  Those of you who are regulars here know how much I love modeling!

Please follow me on Instagram if you want to see what I am up to. Next week I will be joining the 12 days of Christmas Tour, sharing my scaled-down Christmas decor at my home on the 12th.

**This post was sponsored by Artful Home.  I was compensated for this post, but the words and opinions are my own.

What a cool shirt! I love the lines and that it’s such a unique design. Your smile tells me you have a great laugh and you laugh and smile easily. If I lived nearby, I’d suggest we meet for a glass of wine.

I think you look fabulous. Sorry to hear about your father’s decline. I have been through this and it is tough, tough, tough. I’m not quite there yet but I can see 70 on the horizon. I am hoping that as we Boomers look to our own end-stage care, we will have more humane options than being forced to live in ways we categorically declared we would never do. For now, I think you are doing the very best you can. How lovely and loving to have your daughter to help you in the now. Small moments are often the biggest in our lives.

Morning Cindy! I am so sorry to hear of your dads struggles. Just after reading your post, I landed on the next post in my queue, A Network for Grateful Living and here was this morning’s quote, “Caregiving often calls us to lean into love we didn’t know possible.” by Tia Walker. I believe there are no coincidences so i share this with you. wishing you and your family a peaceful holiday season.

Cindy you look absolutely stunning, your smile, your exuberance, your positive attitude, they all come shining through these pictures despite the difficult times you’re having with your Dad. I’m so sorry to hear about his fall and his worsening dementia. It’s so tough on him and heartbreaking for family to witness. But thank goodness you’ve got a good support system and it sounds like you’ve found the right place for him. I’ll remember him in my prayers. In the meantime I’m loving your outfits. Very chic indeed 🙂
