Christmas at My House 2016

First of all I would like to thank Jenny of Evolution of Style and Christy and Amy of 11 Magnolia Lane for inviting me to participate again this year.  If you haven’t been here before welcome.  I am a little on Christmas decorating overload.  I finished decorating the Pour House last week and Sunday I will be decorating our lake house. Some of my pictures are not as good as they should be and I edited them in the dark so I apologize.  At any rate Come on In!The railing in our entryway has been decorated the same for nearly 20 years.  I combine a natura home depot garland with a faux garland I bought years ago with red berries.  The Santa on the chest was a gift from my mother in law.  Don’t look too closely at the sheep Beau chewed the ears off one of them when he was a pup.

A big shout out to Lynch Creek Farms for sponsoring our tour this year.  I hung their blended bay wreath on the back of my front door.  Their wreaths are nothing like the big box store wreaths.  They are gorgeous, full and look just as they are pictured.  I already ordered one for a gift for a friend.  I would highly recommend if you are in need of a special gift.
This year I decorated my chandelier in my dining room with a faux garland that I added eucalyptus, green ribbon, and the german glitter garlands I have owned for years.
My long box made of old fence boards is filled with faux greens, eucalyptus, pine cones, bells and white pillar candles.
The french window, repurposed into a mirror, is dressed with a home depot wreath to which I added eucalyptus, bay and bells.
One of my favorite paintings by Pat Huber presides over a favorite Santa that was a gift from a friend several years ago.
The last couple of years I have placed our tree in the doorway that goes out to the side garden.  We rarely use the door and the tree fits perfectly in the spot.

My tree is not a “decorator” tree.  It is decorated with ornaments that we have collected over the years. Some date back to the 70’s.
I find my wrapping paper at Marshalls every year.  They always have great papers and ribbons.  You can download the gift tags here by Holly Maher Creative.

I simplified my pillows on my sofa recently and I love the cleaner look.

I wanted a more minimalist look for my mantel as well.

The wreath is cockscomb from Target on sale for $30.

The lawn bowling pins and the wood panels I found at Round Top a couple of years ago.  The mantel is simply decorated with natural greens, sugar pine cones, and faux red berries.

Lastly I will just show you a couple of sneak peeks of my family room as I am going to do a post in January on my redo.
This old grape harvester from Patine is filled with natural greens and faux red berries from Joann’s.
These old shutters from the Eastern Block were also sourced from Patine.
On my coffee table an old Indian basket is filled with fresh greens and pomegranetes from my yard.
Thank you so much for stopping by!  If you would like to see more of my past Christmas decor go here, here, here, and here. If you like my style I would love it if you would follow me on Pinterest here and on Instagram here https://www.instagram.com/cindyhattersley/.

Cindy you had me at "Christmas at my house." But then you mentioned that you finished decorating the Pour House and that the lakehouse is next.
Ok. Do I need to get you some medication?
Three places, really? And you KNOW I can't even get my one little house done. (Although I did get my chandy done today woo hoo!) Ya know, I feel like that old lady in that famous scene in When Harry Met Sally, when Meg Ryan is faking an organism and the old lady looks over and says, "Ill have what she's having?" That's me looking at you getting all this lovely decorating done. Hey, I need some of your vitamins, seriously. Oh-and I love your home, it's amazing for all it's warmth and rustic beauty and just the perfect backdrop for all the lovely Christmas greenery! You've motivated me to get off my duff and finish my place…
hugs from your favorite SoCal slacker,
    xo

Happy holidays Cindy. I love everything you have done. It's just the right amount of holiday in just the perfect "Rough Luxe" manner to fit your gorgeous Mediterranean style home. I LOVE your iron staircase railing, AMAZING! And the way you have filled various containers with greens, adding a smattering of color is perfection. So inspirational!! And your tree in the doorway looks so cosy. Have a wonderful holiday season.

I am a big proponent of mixing Fresh and Faux and love how you have done it. Your home looks wonderful and I also have enjoyed seeing how you have decorated the Pour House. It is a great space!

I just love everything…wish I could see it in person! Your mantel is breathtaking. It's all so festive but still somehow understated. Perhaps due to all the natural elements. Lovely!
