Although rope is often associated with it’s utilitarian purposes rather than a decorative accent, recently it has popped up in interiors of all styles. Rope is a fun way to add texture and style to your interiors and the price point cannot be beat! The possibilities are endless.
This clever coffee table forever catches my eye.

World Market has a knock off of these pendant lights below here http://www.worldmarket.com/product/galvanized+metal+and+rope+pendant+lamp.do?&refType=1&from=Search that need a little shooshing to make them look up to snuff. I bet if you coated this with Amy Howard’s zinc solution here http://shop.amyhowardathome.com/Zinc-Solution/ they would be a close second!

Clever use of rope as curtain by Erin Martin in this Northern California home.
Restoration Hardware also has these extension ropes. We might just use these for the pendants we are designing for the kitchen in Tahoe.
My daughter snatched up this Pottery Barn lamp on sale
Have you used rope in your decor? If so I would love to hear how. I had a great trip to Tahoe. I will report on that in my next post.

I LOVE every last one of these images. The cool thing about the drapes attached to the rod with rope is it's a good way to deal with drapes that are little too short. Great post!

You find the best stuff. I love the RH shelves. I attached heavy rope to an IKEA pendant in my son's last room…I want to try that zinc solution!

What fantastic ideas here. I am definitely going to try that rope in the vase idea, much cheaper and more long lasting than flowers! x Sharon

Cindy, what a wonderfully original post! I don't think I've seen a entire post filled with such creative options using rope. I agree, there's so many possibilities and now that I've seen some of these examples, you've got me thinking. I can't wait to see photos of your Tahoe place.

Hi Cindy, Thank you for all of these links! I like the rope hang for the mirror from RH. It's fun in the summer to change things up and add the rope accessories. I like the beach vibe. Hope you are having a nice week.

Hey Cindy – Such a coincidence: I spent a good part of today searching for rope / nautical light pendants, mirrors and hardware for our home in Maine. I found a bunch of DIY projects that look easy enough. Hope to tackle this summer once we are settled. xo

These are all great inspirations for using rope in the home and I am a huge fan of this since I have the door stopper and the floor lamp version of that rope table lamp!
