Christmas Home Tour Part Two-

Welcome to my Christmas Home Tour Part Two.  Let’s light my favorite Frazier Fir Christmas candle and begin where we left off. We spend a lot of time in our converted game room (you can read about that transition here,) so we wanted to infuse a little Christmas spirit into the room where we live. We added a small Leylandi Cypress that could be planted outdoors after Christmas for a more natural look.  I prefer it with simple white lights.

Under the tree is a Santa that was a gift from my now deceased mother in law.  She had his coat made out of an old fur stole of hers.  The sheep have been munched on by every lab we have had.  Don’t look too close.

On the wall next to the sofa are two vintage shutters from Patine.  They are dressed up with a fluffed and zhushed Costco wreath and adorned with burlap ribbon.

The TV is hidden behind old green shutters.  I added our old needlepoint stockings to the front for color.  The twig table is home to a vintage canvas duck decoy and a fabulous antique box inherited from our in-laws. The old jeweler’s sign came from Crawfords Antiques. They have been a great resource for antiques over the years.

I just dressed up the hanging lantern above our little table in the corner with a few foraged greens and faux berries.  The blue stoneware vase is filled with fresh greens and (don’t tell anyone) faux berries. I have no problem using faux if it looks real.

The last few years we have placed our (faux) tree in the little alcove off the dining room that goes out to the side garden.  We just lock the door and it creates a great little niche for the tree and presents.

christmas tree with heirloom ornaments

The tree is not a decorator tree.  I don’t change it up year after year.  It is filled with ornaments that have special meaning and have been collected over our 40+ years of marriage.

This ornament says 1978.  It was a hallmark ornament (remember them?).  It is made of plastic.  Back in the 70’s most ornaments were just colored balls.

These ornaments from Walnut Ridge are highly collectible now.  The Labrador was purchased when we got our first yellow lab over 22 years ago.  The cat was purchased in honor of our daughter’s favorite (all of ours actually) cat Lilly.

The packages under the tree are wrapped in black, white and green.  I have linked to every ribbon and paper that is still available in the widget at the bottom of the post.  The polka dot papers are sugar paper from Target. The green felt tree ribbon is from Joanne’s.

I designed the “Merry Christmas Summer” tags on Canva . The other printable gift tags are from Taryn Whitaker can be downloaded by clicking on the link printable gift tags.

Oh my goodness. Your home is just perfect. So much time and effort goes into all of these decorations. Yet it looks so effortless. Hm? I don’t think so. I think of all the stores you had to go to, to put it all together. Maybe I’m getting old. But it’s a huge job. Beautiful and Merry Christmas to you and yours!

So lovely and cozy. Just need the fire and a nice glass of Monterey pinot?!
Loved the part about the labs chewing up your ornaments. Maybe its their way of making sure we don’t forget them! ;))

Your home is so beautiful and I love your holiday decorations. I think your tree is so much more meaningful than a “decorator” tree. The ornaments are so precious and I’m sure wonderful memories flood back to you when you hang each one on your tree. I don’t have many gifts to wrap but I’m also doing a black and whit pie theme. Found wonderful paper at Marshall’s and also lots of black and white at Target. Thank you for sharing how you celebrate this magical time of year. I love it all!

Beautiful home ready for the holidays. We have five giant leland cypress trees in our back yard that I cut some greenery from.
